Ouch, have been to get yourself checked out? Safety first! A bit fuzzy today from my covid jab as well. Easy week coming up - will be careful, Duds. Thanks for your concern, the team were really worried .................... worried that one of them would have to go in nets !!!!

The win yesterday helped considerably.
Making my debut today as WF Manager with a joint 50/60s "fringe player" team at the new Indoor Fleetwood Dome vs Garstang.
This is a 4 team "champions league" style group played over 6 Sunday's - one a month through to March. With 8 withdrawals from a squad of 18 I have had to name myself as a sub !! Watch out for the famous Cruyff turn.
Blackpool, Fleetwood, Fylde and Garstang. 2 x 25 minute halves. Supposed to be a friendly league, we shall soon see.

The New Indoor WF League Fleetwood 50/60s Mixed
Fleetwood 2 Fylde 0 Blackpool 1 Garstang 1
Mixed sides of 8 vs 8 (max 3 over 50s on the pitch at a time). 2 x 25 minutes half per game. Two close games making a good start to the new competition.
Blackpool vs Garstang a very fair result. Garstang took the early lead with a superb finish from a cross field ball to the back post. Blackpool's equalizer came from an equally good finish (Chris Moody) from a well worked free kick just before half-time.
Everyone played their part as they were dreading my coming on as second sub. to show them some silky moves and my Cruyff turn.
Unbeaten in my managerial career !

Greater Manchester WF Over 65s Autumn League - Oct Session. Division 1.
Second session with the big boys and a much better effort and return for our deeds.
Blackpool 0 Corinthians 0 - Fairly quite game and a well ground out draw. Blackpool 0 Preston 0 - Another game that could have lasted 4 times as long with the same score. Blackpool 0 Bolton 0 To me, the best football team in this division and we kept them to just 2 efforts easily dealt with. Blackpool 1 Bury 1 Conceded a toe poke with 3 of our guys surrounding their player. The ball appeared to be in the area when he struck it but goal given. Our goal came from a sweeping move resulting in a bottom corner strike. Worth waiting for.
Corinthians (+8 pts) 15 Bury (+8pts) 13 Bolton (+7pts) 12 Blackpool (+4 pts) 6 Preston (+2pts) 4
Off the bottom for now. A lifeline thrown to the Seasiders. (I am away on holiday next month so our 60s keeper will cover - Underage GK allowed).

Three clean sheets from four is a stunning effort, Banksy - well played!
There's not a lot you can do about a toe poke through a crowd of players, mate, plus if you reckon it was in the area then I trust your judgement completely - so you were denied a fourth clean sheet by poor refereeing.
Brilliant performance, mate!

Hilarious episode last night:-
I was refereeing the youngsters (50-65s group) at our training session, 9 a side from 8-9pm under floodlights.
It was hard work trying to keep an eye on 18 bodies on a larger pitch for 3 x 18 minute games. All very fair and only one serious issue to deal with, the blue (temporary suspension) and red cards remained in my pocket. So i was mentally drained at the end.
We finished bang on 9pm (on my watch). As we walked off I was berated by an Under 15's manager coming on for the next hour as the pitch wasn't ready for his squad and "he had to wait to get on ".
I showed him my watch (still at 9pm) he took out his phone which showed 9.02 !!!! I didn't think it was worth falling out over 2 minutes. He was adamant that bookings were only for 55 minutes, so I pointed out that we didn't get on until 8.10 (previous group late finish) so technically we had another 5 minutes to go then !!!
He was not amused. Our two team managers and captains waded in to tell him to "piss off" but he continued arguing. I reasonably pointed out that there was another 1/4 pitch he could have come onto to warm up and be ready for 9.02 and I rubbed salt into the wounds by indicating it was now 9.10 and he had lost a full 10 minutes of his precious hour.
He was left looking rather silly in front of 18 baying teenagers. Don't think he will be getting manager of the month award this time. The best thing though was he was only 5ft 4 inches or so and really didn't stand a chance against half a dozen 6 foot plus gnarled veterans.
Next week will be interesting.
