Couldn't have gone very much better for us, that! But your final sentence, AH, is the really pertinent one. Fingers crossed for Thurs...

As long as we don't suffer "Sky Freeze" !!!
Yes. a good night's work from Team "Grim/Gate/Trans." Walsall and Barrow cancelled each other out. Keep an eye on Wimbledon and Crawley creeping into the play-off place reckoning.

A win tomorrow would be perfect after last nights results, I won't type it again but just look at my post a few up from this one!

Potential Maximum points are:-
Mansfield 96 County 99 Wrexham 94 MK Dons 88 Crewe 91 Barrow 90 Wimbledon 81 Walsall 82 Gillingham 79 Crawley 85 Newport 81 Morecambe 78
So the play off places are very much up for grabs to almost 1/2 the league ! Around 16 games left where the top 11 play each other to reduce the total points gained. But it was teams in the lower half who came to the aid of the party last night.
As the saying goes "it's back in our own hands". Watch this space.

Well, however Thursday night goes there will be some interesting fixtures on Sat in L2 ahead of our Monday night game against Crawley:
Sat 16th AFC Wombles (7th) v Newport (12th) Barrow (6th) v Harrogate (14th) Bratfut (13th) v Mansfield Cole U (23rd) v Walsall (8th) Gillingham (10th) v Grimsby (21st) MKD (5th) v Crewe (4th) Wrexham (2nd) v Tranmere (16th)
Bratfut seem pretty hard to beat at H (W 6 D 8 L 4) so they might pull off a result against Mansfield (W 3 L 3 since they whupped Harrogate). I suspect Tranmere used up their luck for this week on Tuesday night and they are much better at H than A, so I fear Wrexham will get the W. MKD v Crewe has me praying for a 0-0 with a couple of red cards and a few (minor) injuries. Cole U fall into the drop zone after FGR's recent uptick in form. Ryan Johnson and Joe Lewis seem to have been missing games for the last month or so but the Wombles are staying in the hunt.
County, of course travel to 9th placed Crawley on Monday night before hosting MKD at EP on Sat 23rd. Crawley's H record is W 10 D 1 L 7. MKD on the road are W 7 D 3 L 9. So there's cause for some cautious optimism that we could be back top soon. Fingers crossed.

PS: Notts County this year are W 1 D 2 L 8 F 17 A 27, losing 5 straight. I guess their bubble has well and truly burst.
Actually I'll edit to add in the actual results working backwards:
Crawley (a) 2-1 AFC Wombles (h) 0-2 Sutton (h) 3-4 Crewe (h) 1-3 Wrexham (a) 1-0 Newport (a) 1-3 Gillingham (h) 1-3 Mansfield (a) 1-0 Barrow (h) 1-1 Grimsby (a) 5-5 Tranmere (a) 4-2

So, Wimbledon, Barrow, Walsall, Crewe and Wrexham, today, decide that they would perhaps prefer to fight it out in the play-offs or stay cozy in League 2.
Only 2 wins in the top 9 teams (MK Dons and Mansfield|). Another chance on Monday to chose our own destination.
I'm looking at maximum points possible:-
Mansfield 96 County 95 Wrexham 91 ............................ Crewe 88 MK Dons 88 Barrow 88 Crawley 83 ............................ Walsall 80 Morecambe 78 Wimbledon 78 Gillingham 77
Edit after Sunday/Monday games this week

Ah, well - Mansfield salvaged a point. Still an unexpected bonus of a result, though. Let's hope County can capitalise later...

15-0. Well done Colchester.
Sadly, Wrexham have just scored. But Crewe are a goal behind.

Ex-Hatter Andy Cannon now has a brace for Wrexham, who are two goals to the good. Crewe have drawn level.
Good news (potentially) is that the Mansfield result puts things back in County's hands... at least for now!

THE FINAL COUNTDOWN
This weekend's update:-
Mansfield P39 pts 73 max 94 County P38 pts 71 max 95 Wrexham p39 pts 70 max 91 ............................ MK Dons p40 pts 67 max 85 Crewe p39 pts 65 max 86 Barrow p38 pts 64 max 88 Crawley p38 pts 59 max 83 ............ ................ Gillingham p40 pts 59 max 77 Wimbledon p40 pts 58 max 76 Walsall p38 pts 56 max 80 Newport p39 pts 55 max 76 Morecambe p39 pts 54 max 76
That all looks a little more comfortable. Friday sees Mansfield go to Wrexham ! County play rock bottom Vegan Green Rovers. MK Dons host Walsall. Crewe travel to Gillingham and Crawley entertain Doncaster. Don't think we need to worry about the rest.
Have a good week.
