There's a tweet from County saying Grayson was the sixth and final signing for the January window. So (just for the record) I make it that the six are: Tanto Jack Stretton Neil Byrne Kyle Knoyle Aaron Rowe and Joe Grayson Lots of pace among those players, probably a good thing if we continue to play a high press and high tempo style. It's a revolving door with players coming and going at an astonishing rate and outside the game, such a business would be one to steer well clear of as a prospective employee. The curious thing is, that with each iteration of the squad, DC states he's happy with the group and yet it's only a matter of time before wholesale changes are made. I have to be honest, it's no longer the club I've supported for over 45 years and I doubt I'll renew my ST next season.

Yes the pace of change is so rapid at the moment. I watched some BBC highlights of the FA Cup replay at EP against Bolton, just 14 months ago: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59324657Of the starting XI (plus subs) from that game: Jordan Keane, Ash Palmer, Mark Kitching, Liam Hogan, Sam Minihan, Alex Reid and Connor Jennings have all moved on to other clubs on permanent deals. On-loan from Aston Villa , Arjan Raikhy, returned to Aston Villa not long afterwards. Scot Quigley, Ethan Ross, Ben Barclay, Ethan Pye and Ollie Crankshaw have all gone out on loan. That's 13 players out of the starting XI and 9 substitutes. That's a 65% turnover rate, and even if you say some of the players out on loan may come back and regain a place in the side , that would still be a dizzying pace of change. I get that players can be good enough for one division but not the next, and there is something to be said for not letting things get stale, but yes it feels a bit too frantic at the moment.

That said, I don't think it's just him, I think Wilson is sticking his f***ing oar in again. I can't stand the bullshitter, and the sooner he's f***ed off, the better.

Does anyone know how Macca is doing with his recovery? I don't always watch the DC interviews, so if he's mentioned it, I've obviously missed it.

From the Tranmere pre match interview DC updated that MSH had the boot removed & ready for light training. Still think he’s weeks away from starting.

I seem to remember seeing, somewhere, that it would be May before he'd be back. Fingers crossed he'll prove that to be wrong, although Knoyle seems to be doing fairly well in the meantime.

I'd love to see him back quickly, but if taking longer to come back means he'll be able to hit the ground running and put this nightmare spell of injuries behind him, I'm all for it! I'd like to see DC really take some of the defensive duties off him and play him further up the pitch, though, as that's where I think he can do the most damage for us. Get back soon, Macca!

I seem to recall DC saying that as MSH has been a bit injury prone recently then his style of play may be asking a bit more of his body, at present, than it can deliver. So either the style of paly needs to ease back a bit or he needs to build up his frame to be more robust. I think this was in a post match interview in Dec, but I'm damned if I can remember which one.
Either way, I think something needs to change or his career could shorten appreciably, which would be a real shame.

I also remember DC saying that. It was a few weeks back possibly a pre-match interview. I agree he should be used as a more orthodox winger. In the past he's tended to take the ball to the half way line & stop. Maybe that's the defensive mind kicking in. He has the pace to get past the opposition. In training he needs to keep practicing getting the ball into dangerous areas in the 18 yards box. If I remember his delivery had been sketchy before the injury.

The advantage I can see for these two young players is that they will get match-time in over the summer, as the Irish (Republic) Premier Division fixtures run from mid-February to early November.
County's piece about this is a tad misleading, as it says they are there 'for the remainder of the season'. Both have gone on loan for all of it, and it has yet to start!
