Stay safe Hermans, I presume there is no mask wearing in school?

Cheers, chaps, we're all ok. They've had many measures in place (a one-way corridor system, masks in all corridors and similar spaces, year bubbles, seating plans within the classes etc.). Last couple of weeks just seemed to have had more cases reported causing small groups, classes or several classes to isolate.

It's the same at Mrs Sandy's school (secondary) where 'bubbles' are being sent home left, right and centre. The fact she's avoided getting it this far is a miracle. The cases at our boys' primary school have thankfully been few and far between (certainly single figures out of a school of around 300). Would be nice to make it to Christmas without any of us having to isolate or have another test (both Mrs Sandy and I have had reason to undergo tests so far and both thankfully came back negative).
Stay safe, everyone.

We have been in school with over 700 children aged from 3 to 18 full time since September. All staff and children over the age of 6 wear masks at all times in school and only remove them to eat, staying with the same 'food bubble' every day. We have class bubbles and they continue in the playground too. So far there have been two cases - a brother and sister who caught it off their father. The two classes were closed for a day to identify close contacts, these were tested and no other children got infected. It is a pain wearing a mask and reminding children constantly but it is much better than teaching online!
Stay safe everyone

Has there been any progress with your Irish citizenship, mate?

Ireland has had a six week lockdown during which no new applications were even being considered so I’ve kept all my paperwork here. I have to send my 77 year old mother’s original birth certificate in the post as well as my passport. It is something that gives me palpitations just thinking about it

I'm sure everything will be okay, Duds, then you can put this toxic excuse for a country behind you and carry on being an EU citizen.
I'm not just a proud Englishman, I'm also a proud Brit, but the England and Britain I was proud of are long gone, so I'd do exactly the same if I was in your shoes, mate.
Please keep us posted on this, Duds.

My mother in law was born near Dublin (then moved to Essex when she was very young), so Mrs Sandy and both our boys could apply for Irish citizenship.
They'd have to leave me behind (my nearest claim is that I once drank nine pints of Guinness in a single evening), but I'm almost tempted to let them.

Selfish, gormless bordering on the moronic, incapable of assessing risk to the point of being inadequate or perfectly rational and merely looking after themselves. Discuss. I'd say 70/30 in favour of column 'A'.
