Fantastic 147 from Mark Allen last night in his Masters quarter-final against Mark Selby, eventually coming back from 4-1 down to win 6-5 - an absolutely epic break and an epic performance.

Ronnie won his 8th Masters title last night, what a phenomenon that guy really is. The greatest of all time and I for one hope he can complete the 'Triple crown' at the Crucible and take an 8th World Title.
Even the great Stephen Hendry says Ronnie is the best ever, and that there's no argument there - nuff said.

Ronnie wins yet another title, coming from 6-3 down to Judd Trump and adding the World Grand Prix to his recent haul.
Phenomenal.

Had to laugh during the cricket commentary last night.
Atherton remarked that "Moheen Ali had recently managed to get De Kock out 6 times whilst bowling" !!!!!
I thought that would get in the way of his googlies ? Surely that could be no balled as batsman intimidation.

Agreed, duds, it stinks.
It is so shortsighted to only select people who meet their self-imposed target to have a realistic chance of a top 8 finish.
The effects of this will not be felt for quite a few years (when the clowns running the show have fallen up a corporate ladder somewhere).
Who is inspiring the next gen of girls to be Olympic shot putters, or boys to be steeple chasers? Not amazing athletes in Paris on TV - many of whom over-achieve and exceed expectations.

Just looking at the stats for Jimmy Anderson.
Surely England need to delay his retirement so he can play the full WI series and move above Warne into second place on the all time list of Test wicket takers.
He needs 6 more wickets, which he'd surely do over 2 more Test against a weak WI team.
I know we are planning for the Ashes, but come on, it's Jimmy!

His England number is 613 and over 100 players have made their England debut since he started.
Among the players who started after him and are long retired are the likes of Strauss, Bell, Collingwood and Pieterson. Just astonishing for a pace bowler.

Totally agree, Eps, the ECB really need to make this happen. Jimmy's a legend and deserves his place at the very top of the tree.

I see the logic of working up towards the next Ashes series but then you'd question why they persevere with Woakes. He's excellent in English conditions but struggles in away series.
Jimmy is staying with the test squad through the summer as a mentor so, if there's a late injury...
Never say never!

First Test vs Sri Lanka at Old Trafford would have been more fitting (plus ensure he gets 2nd on the list).
Lancashire should have had the chance to say goodbye to one of their own.
