Anyway, here's something heartwarming.
BBC highlights commentator Ken Brown telling the story of Constantino Rocca after the win in 1997 in Valderrama... Rocca beat Tiger Woods in the singles in 97 if you remember, then said after the Cup win: "We win the Ryder Cup, but I win something more than that - 12 friends for life" - now THAT'S the spirit of the Ryder Cup.

What the hell is that England cricket team doing? Getting destroyed by Afghanistan for Christ's sake - an absolutely shameful display.
I've been watching this on holiday in Spain and I'm ashamed to own up to this being my national team.
Every single one of the staff and players should hang their heads in f***ing shame after the last wicket falls.

That performance was unbelievable. Followed by the rugby team almost wazzing it up the wall against Fiji.

All out for 170 off 22 overs, which is effectively a mediocre T20 score - that really was shocking.
Massive changes needed after this tournament.

156 all out after 33 overs, losing to Sri Lanka by 8 wickets. Changes have to be made after this absolutely disgraceful showing.
Buttler has to be relieved of the captaincy, because it's not helping his game at all. McCullum must surely be worrying about his job too, because it's just not good enough.
Bazball isn't working.

Why did we take Woakes who can't bowl overseas?
Where is the left hand spinner for the righthanders?
Why is Buttler batting at 6 and not higher?
How is Willey batting at 7 and not 10?
Why is Root doing clever bazball shots and not just accumulating runs?
How is it that none of the England players have played any domestic 50 over games for years?
There are some big fundamental problems that need addressing.

This is why I'm suggesting Buttler should not be captain, mate, because it's clearly compromising his own game. He's captain, keeping wicket AND batting, which will be why he's at number 6, so I think they should either give someone else the gloves or give someone else the captaincy - but he absolutely needs to be moved back up the batting order. |

True, not many have done the captain, wk, batsman combo well.
Kumar Sangakkara, Moin Khan, Andy Flower and, of course, MS Dhoni - but he batted at 6.
There are probably others, but a rarerity. He'd be better off opening and, if so, maybe c is too much.
Might be controversial, but I wouldn't have taken Stokes if he couldn't bowl

Now we're as good as out, I'm throwing my support behind the Kiwis, not least for the way they lost out to us in 'that' 2019 final.
I think it would be fitting for them to win this one after the part they played in such a great match.
