What a shame about Mark Cavendish ending his Tour de France career in an innocuous crash in a mild part of the stage.
Caught out by a rogue gear change mechanical yesterday. Not everyone's favourite character but always worth a watch because he could cause mayhem wherever he goes.
Always up there with one of my top sportsman ever, along with Nigel Mansell and Bill Beaumont.

Always up there with one of my top sportsman ever, along with Nigel Mansell and Bill Beaumont. Looks like a good documentary on Sky tonight at 8, Gaffer. Williams & Mansell - Red 5. Mansell is the best of the modern Brits for me, he was just fearless. He raced against some of the best at their peak, and beat them. Back to back F1 and IndyCar champion too, how many drivers can boast that? |

27 without loss at the close, but not without a few scares.
We are in no rush and have two whole days if we need them, so let's just grab singles and wait for any bad balls, that should really frustrate the bowlers for a change.
Big morning session coming up tomorrow.

amazed there was any play today. it was thundering and siling it down when i woke up, it's still thundering now, and rained pretty much all day. i could hear the cheers over the last couple of days, presumably when stokes was slogging it all over while on one leg yesterday, but didn't really hear it today. i'm about three quarters of a mile away from headingley.

All we need to do from here is dab single after single and keep rotating the strike, don't let the bowler pin any batsman down, it'll piss them off more than the odd boundary.

I still say it comes down to fielding. This should be all over by now - Aus got 50-60 too many from dropped catches.
Bairstow is undercooked. He looks unfit and lacks match sharpness. He's not played enough County cricket before getting back in the Eng team. Top player over the last few years, but back too soon after injury. And he's not getting better with each Test. Get Foakes back in.
