I wouldn't touch Wilshere with a barge pole. I'd have Rashford over Vardy any day of the week and I'd also give Shelvey a seat on the plane too - he's got the kind of ability that can do some damage. Also, I'd give Joe Hart a ticket to the destination of his choosing this Summer, anywhere in the world - providing it isn't Russia.

No one called Jonjo should play for my country. Vardy goes to give you something different. I hope Pope but suspect they will go with Hart.
Sessegnon and Alexander-Arnold should go

I'd like it if we took one big centre forward. Vardy, Lingard, Rashford, Sterling, Welbeck etc all have quite similar styles of play. If we need to change things, it'd be worth having a target man on the bench. Not sure who that would be, as I haven't seen much Prem football this year.

Matt Le Tissier's 23-man England squad Goalkeepers: Butland, Pickford, Pope
Defenders: Tripper, Walker, Bertrand, Young, Cresswell, Alexander-Arnold, Maguire, Tarkowski, Stones
Midfielders: Dier, Henderson, Wilshere, Loftus-Cheek, Alli, Sterling, Lingard, Lallana
Forwards: Vardy, Kane, Rashford
***
My squad would be similar but have Hart for Pope, Rose for Cresswell and Delph for Lallana. It seems that Southgate is going with Pope. The Rose/Cresswell choice is probably fairly tight and I can't see him taking both Wilshere and Lallana.

Hart should be nowhere near the squad.
Looking at the rest of the squad, it is remarkable how devoid it is of quality, certainly in central midfield.

Surely none of the good people of CH read it, Maccy? We print that comic in one of the press halls where I work, but I take great comfort from the knowledge that - should the cleaners forget to stock up the loo roll dispensers - I'll always have something to wipe my backside on!

bbc also has that hart's not going. ooh, but he's experienced.....yeah...did you see the goals against wales and iceland last time we were in a tournament?!? couldn't catch a cold anymore. very telling that adrian has kept him out in the latter half of the season. i used to rate him, but now i'd have adrian f***ing mole in ahead of him.

Joe Hart's one major problem is that Joe Hart will never be anywhere near as good as Joe Hart thinks he is. Long overdue.

It does seem strange that anyone could have watched his antics in the tunnel before the game and arrived at the conclusion that Joe Hart is a calming presence who would be good to have around the camp.
