dpc - just done a search on beerintheevening and the best reviews are for the Stanford Arms and Mariner's Rest pubs. Have you been in either of those?

is it street parking then, dpc, or is there a club car park fans can use as well? ta It is Street parking around the ground there is about 10 parking spots at the ground but these are taken up very early on a match day. I Park on Love Road, opposite the School, and have never had an issue finding a spot on the road but Coaches will struggle to find a space. The nearest pay and display car park is Rishton Road near the Job Centre and Library and is a 5-10 minute walk from the ground. If anybody is getting here early on a Saturday and fancy's a good breakfast O would highly recommend "The Lighthouse Cafe" www.lovelowestoft.co.uk/cafes/the-lighthouse-cafe/ its not the cheapest but its far by the best brekkie you will have had in along while and is next to the sea for a little walk after it.

The Stanford Arms www.stanfordarms.co.uk/ is a small and friendly pub its been many years since ive been in there but ive never heard a bad thing said about the place. also check out www.facebook.com/TheStanfordArms?fref=tsMarner's Rest is one to be honest that ive never been in and forgot that it was even there! If its real ale your after there is a small brewery opposite the ground www.green-jack.com/ - Some local pubs stock them but they do have their own pub in the town - Actually just noticed that the Stanford Arms is now run by Green Jack so thats a double bonus!

Actually, yes, just looked at the location (very near the ground) and the menu/ale list and it looks spot on.
To anyone wishing to meet up, who hasn't met anyone from CH before, send me a PM and I'll let you have my mobile number so we can say hello!

I've just been discussing with El Maccio, that we might try and grab lunch there too, so I'll provisionally say we'll be aiming for midday if anyone would like to dine with us!

I am not 100% sure where i will be prior as my dad is coming down on the friday - I will be in the Club House for sure from 2pm if not a little earlier as they will have the footie on. I am not sure if they do food all day in the stanford arms -i know that the friday night pizza night is very popular- So you maybe worth a ring to double check if they serve food all day saturday but if they dont i would highly recommend going to Lighthouse Cafe first.

Thanks for the heads up - their website seems to suggest they're doing a 'Saturday Stew' special at the moment, so I'm taking from that there should be food available on the day.

Unless it's actually 'Saturday Stu Special' and is really the entertainment booked for the afternoon. And being in deepest Wast Anglia, the mind boggles as to what that could be...

If the football is dreadful, we could always go and see the Stu Show!!!!

Latest table, following last night's results: www.footballwebpages.co.uk/confnorth/leagueGuiseley's win helps cement their place in the Play-offs - although Chorley's defeat by The Avenue leaves them running out of games in hand...

So, how might it all pan out? Interestingly, the same site has a predicted, final table: www.footballwebpages.co.uk/confnorth/league?sort=predictedUnder this, we remain rooted in ninth! Personally, I reckon that four of the five top places are now nailed on - for Barrow, Fylde, Tamworth and Guiseley. The final Play-off position could, theoretically, go to any one of the clubs currently in the other five top ten spots: down to Worcester in tenth. Letting my head rule my heart, I fear it is unlikely to be County, in view of the number of games already played relative to those by some rivals in the mix... but, bearing in mind our relatively benign run-in (Good Friday's trip to Barrow excepted), and given a continued good sequence of results, who knows? We must certainly win this weekend - and, if we were to bring three points back from the Far East, that could make Chorley's visit to EP a week on Saturday quite interesting!
