I've waited most of my 52 years for us to win a major trophy, and now we're in the final. I honestly don't care if I spend the rest of my life on my arse and skint, I don't care what happens the day after the final, I don't want a lottery win, I don't want to marry a porn star, I don't want anything else in life other than to see my kids be happy and successful and my country win a big one in the football - just please, please, please, please let me see us win this one! PLEASE! If you're not using them, could I have the lottery win and the porn star, please? |

Well done England. I was somewhat bemused to see everywhere people claiming the Sterling dived, to my eyes there was contact from both defenders. Denmark got in our heads with their crowd tactics on the free kick that lead to their goal. They stretched us more than anyone else has and to be honest I’m glad they scored. It means that we are not going into the final without conceding a goal and we also came back from a goal down which shows great strength of character.
The fact that before the tournament I had completed one of those predict the score of every game spreadsheets and actually had England to beat Denmark 2-1 in the semi final is also nothing to do with me enjoying the Danish goal…. I thought that the biggest difference was off the bench. When they made their changes they got significantly worse and never really threatened again. Our changes brought even more threat and danger to a tired defence. With any other goalkeeper against us we would have won by 2 or 3 yesterday. And as for the muppets purporting to be fans. They remind me of why I moved here.

Watched the replay of the 66 Final last night (in colour !!).
I was thrilled to see that Gordon seldom kicked the ball from his hands during the whole game.
Great distribution that was easier to control.
Underlines his importance his the last line of defence but the first line of attack.

Sterling is a shitbag not putting himself forward for the early penalties.
That was utter garbage and we were lucky to get to penalties.
That's me done with the national side, they're not getting another chance to disappoint me again.
What the f*** was Rashford doing?
Southgate absolutely blew that with his reluctance to change things and they absolutely bossed that match.
One game to make history, one game where nothing should have been left out there and they choked - f***ing shameful.

Very harsh there Gazz but I do believe Southgate got his tactics all wrong.Italy were the best team in the tournament and fair play to them.Football can be a c*** of a game,we know this all too well being County fans lol.

I appreciate your comments, mate, but it's hard to take when you see a performance like that and your manager does nothing about it for the majority of the match. I honestly don't know where to start with that last night, but it wasn't good enough at all. The penalty from Rashford was diabolical and he put everyone else under pressure because of his pathetic attempt at being a superstar. Sterling should have demanded one and led by example, but instead we saw a nervous young kid missing a penalty that could haunt him for the rest of his career. Kane was awful again for most of the game, did he even have a shot on target, or any shot other than his penalty? Still, I'm sure his next contract - wherever that may be - will ease the 'pain'. Phillips was poor and should have been replaced by Henderson to partner Rice, as the game just passed him by. Walker was poor and kept giving the ball away. Maguire kept stepping out with the ball but never looked like he knew what he was doing....I could go on. Some think getting to a final is good enough, but not for me. This was THE best chance we will ever have at some glory and they f***ing blew it, Southgate blew it. It's coming home? Don't make me laugh, it's never f***ing coming home. We're a nation that is universally disliked, even hated by some - even more so since leaving the EU - and last night we gave them all the best ending to a tournament ever, because we're a bunch of f***ing chokers. Some of our haters out there will have celebrated our loss louder than they would have their own victory, but that says more about their own shortcomings than it does ours. One ray of sunshine is we don't get to start work until half 9 today. "it's coming home...." - f*** off! |

I said at the start of the tournament, that Southgate is a defender and sets his team up not to lose, with the players he has at his disposal he needed to be braver, especially after the equaliser. This might be the only final those players get to. It’s not enough not to lose it you have go out there and win it.
I will still be supporting England ahead of any premier league team!

I've been let down far too many times, Duds.
This was a defeat that was as much of Southgate's making as it was the Italians'. To bring two subs on for the penalty shootout and then let them take one of the first five was shocking, mate, it smacked of a guy who really hadn't planned for penalties at all.
Sterling should have demanded one, and to anyone saying he doesn't take them for City, does Rashford take them for United, did Sancho take them for Dortmund? Why wasn't Henderson kept on for the shootout? He's the calmest head in the squad and a natural leader by example.
Southgate can f*** off into the sunset for me, because I'll argue that anyone else from the knockout stages would have made a better fist of that final, but Southgate choked when it really mattered.
All those experienced players and it was left to a centre half, a teenager and two players who had only a couple more touches of the ball than I did.
Not good enough.
