Dear Gazz And anyone else thinking of 'not setting foot' etc Keep the faith I'm as shocked and disgusted as you are.
As huge as JG was, is and forever will be a club legend as both player and manager, the fans are ultimately the club.
Keep the faith, mate.

Simon Wilson in the national press less than 2 weeks ago:
"If what they had been doing was wrong we would have changed them, definitely," he acknowledges. "But because we knew it wasn't wrong, that long-term affiliation with the club is just added value for us really. These guys knew what they were doing.
"Without being disrespectful to managers, a lot of them don't have a real philosophy of coaching. They don't write it down, they don't research it. Jim does. He almost has his own football manual that he has written. That shows his depth of thinking about the game.
"In many ways Jim represents Stockport. His personality, fighting for the little man, it is who Stockport are. He helps us as new owners to understand the identity of who Stockport are."
How does this square with 'it's not about results, but culture'?
What a bag of b*ll*cks.

Club won’t be getting a penny off me for a good while.
The older I get the less I like football.

What an unbelievably sad day... Thanks, Jim, for all that you have done for County - and, on a more personal level, for giving me your time when I was testing out my skills as a cub reporter. #broken

Clearly a bullshitter and one can only assume that if there was any difference of opinion between him and JG then Stott has come down on the side of a man trying to justify his salary over one who, as either player or manager has nothing to prove to a gobshite like Wilson.

Agreed with that, gts.
I fell out of love with football through most of the 2000s as the sky money really changed the game. I had nothing to do with it (including County) for years.
And I'm on the verge of binning it again. Add the sacking of Jim to the complete disregard most of football have for lockdown and the plight of millions affected by the pandemic, it's disgusting.

This clearly shows that there are 2 or 3 people in the inner circle and everyone else is in the dark.
Doesn't sound like a great culture to me...

I have no words to say that are appropriate.
Thank you JG (trice)

Ordinarily I'd concede that you're right on this one, Collinge, but I just don't think the club is about the fans anymore, not with an owner this ruthless in charge. He clearly has zero regard for us for the way he's binned off arguably our greatest ever manager, so I honestly think I'm done with County. I am genuinely starting to fear that the club is now just another soulless vanity project. I do get where you're coming from, mate, but since Sandy messaged me with the news, County just doesn't seem like County anymore. I just can't see Mark Stott as anything other than a slimey tw## right now, and I doubt that's ever going to change for the way he's done this.

I'm absolutely disgusted like everyone else. If this so called "Culture" has been the issue why didn't they get rid of him sooner. Yes Jim is very vocal but it's because he's County through & through. I used to hear it every home match from not that far away in the stand. It's also borne out of the frustration with the players when they cannot follow the game plan. Look what happened against West Ham, they did & that's credit to all. What kind of manager will we get. What we won't get is a manager who's knows how this club ticks. I wouldn't be surprised there will be a backlash by many fans. I for one will not be wasting any more money on this club either watching the streams or when we eventually get to return to the ground. I'm going to support my local club from now on & not the one I've grown up with when watching the match on my dad's shoulders. If he was in a grave, he would certainly be turning in it for sure. I'm sure JG won't be out of work for long. Good luck with whatever team you manage in the future.

I know we were all told the club was ‘debt free’ upon the Stott take over, but we don’t actually know what’s happened there. Did Stott pay off the former shareholders or did they write their loans off?
All this money he’s supposedly putting into the club... we have assembled a probably expensive squad and we can all see the changes to EP... it’ll be interesting to see the next couple of sets of accounts.
I wonder if he has put the money in by way of interest free loans... in which case we’ll have a nice big minus on the balance sheet again.
I don’t trust him or his cronies. I probably wasn’t alone in treating him with suspicion (albeit also with cautious optimism) when he came in.
Has the last 12 months just been a charm offensive to get the fans onside before he starts putting his real plans into action? I’m not sure if he has an ulterior motive, why he would have one or what it would be if he did, but we have been s*** on from a great height enough times to know more often than not it ends badly for us.
How depressing.
