Fireworks in 15th minute were for the 15 year old still in critical condition after being hit by a police car on Garners Lane just after Christmas. Its the lad JG sent wishes to his family in a recent interview.

Evening lads, congratulations on your performance I thought you defended superbly!!the pitch didn't allow to much football for either team but I thought your lads were a credit to your club.good luck for the rest of the season👍👍take care and stay safe👍👍⚒⚒

I'm sure our boys and staff will come away both proud of what they achieved but also disappointed. We put the game plan into effect so, so well and restricted a side full of quality players to long shots for the most part. But then the very thing we all know time goes on (set pieces) was our downful, for both the goal but also for our lack of threat at attacking corners and FKs. That's where the 'what if?' comes in because I don't recall seeing such poor deliveries for a long time.
But everything I could hope from the game was delivered and we absolutely made a game of it. It was great that lads who played with us through regional part-time football were on that pitch tonight, and that a youngster got a run out too. No-one looked overwhelmed and we have to remember it wasn't just the game itself but the whole media focus and build-up too which most will have never experienced.
It was great that West Ham played a strong side and were clearly up for the game. I don't think they underestimated us and their whole approach was professional and respectful. They knew they had a game on their hands and dug in for the fight, so fair play. I'm sure they're glad to see the back of us but good luck in the rest of the competition to them.
JG, staff and the boys - you did us proud.

Forward needed, Attacking options limited, Concentration and determination can't be faulted. Take that kind of performance into the league and we'll be top 4.
I think we lacked any threat going forward but i'm proud of the way all the guys played and left nothing on the pitch. Fingers crossed we can now kick on in the league and cement a playoff place.

If I was going to do anything differently last night, it would have been to start with Bennett and have Alex on the right of the three behind him instead of Jennings, as I think that would have given us a little more penetration up front.
Having said that, there's no guarantee that it would have changed the outcome, but that's just a thought I've had while reflecting on last night's epic performance from the lads, including Jennings so my suggestion is in no way being critical of Connor's performance.
They were all fantastic and I've had so many compliments from workmates today on the way we were narrowly beaten by a quality Premier League side.

Hopefully we can put the ‘unrest in the camp’ period behind us now and those players who haven’t bought into Jim’s philosophy will realise that if we have a game plan and stick to it(!) we can hold a Premier League team to a squeaky 0-1 defeat.
Let’s face it we restricted West Ham to very few chances. The goal was their only proper clear cut chance and, fair play to them, they took advantage of a quick corner when our defence wasn’t quite set and so allowed two runners to arrive late into the box.
I hope Jim has now proved his credentials to any doubters as a top notch coach and tactician. Full marks to the players too for raising their game on a difficult pitch and who knows on another night we may have nicked one. It was also testament to the fitness of the players. Not many were looking leggy at full time and we competed for the full 90. Finally, we kept the ball on the deck on a terrible pitch with no hoof ball however tempting that may be for some players.
Well done to all involved.
