He'll only be a success if you intend to drop Ben and play him?? That's how it looks to me too, mate.

We have to play 13 or 14 games in 9 weeks plus, hopefully, play offs. This is absolutely the right time to be making sure that there is cover in all positions. Dave Jones signed the likes of Charlery and Cowans in 1997 for just this reason. We had one of the larger squads by the end of the 2007/8 season via loan signings because Jim wanted the cover. It's just the right thing to do if you can afford it. Supporters of other clubs will be moaning that their boards aren't making enough signings. Where's the money coming from, though? It all looks a bit slapdash to me since Rusk came in, with an air of 'chuck enough money at it and something's bound to click'. You may think it's ok, archie, but I worry about how Mark Stott will recoup all this money, particularly the Madden signing, because he's not going to make anything from selling him on, that's for sure. He's not spending all this out of generosity, that is if indeed it is his money that's being spent. I'd sooner he tell us all what's happening with the ownership of EP, because he's been incredibly quiet on that front, a little too quiet.

I asked the Co-op whether they have asked the question (or received any information) whether the money "invested" by Mark Stott has been done by way of loans to the Club or money gifted. The Co-op will be asking the Club Board a their next meeting. The issue with the ground is puzzling. We still don't own it and still pay rent on it which seems weird considering Mark Stott is financially savvy and whilst he has seemingly undertaken to purchase the ground every months rent is a chunk of the £2 million value. From a personal point of view I'd like to see communication that gives definitive information as to where we stand as a Club without having to await sight of the Club's accounts. After all is it unreasonable to want to know whether our Club could be at risk of becoming the next Bury or Macclesfield? It is not a case of doubting anyone just an expectation that the Club will understand why clarity of where we stand financially is important to the supporters,

The main thing that worries me is how the money is being put in.
I expect it is by way of interest free loans - in which case I don’t want to see us frittering it away. If the money is loans, fine, but in that case, every £1 needs to add value to the club.
Investing in infrastructure is great - getting things like a proper training base or setting up the academy again. These are things we have been crying out for for years.
Spending thousands a week on a 30-odd year old ex FL player looking to pick up a 3 year pay check is not value add for me.

As Elworth said, we're not trying to be unreasonable here, these are all valid questions from supporters who have seen their club on the brink of going under, more than once.

"Richie has unfortunately found himself out of the team recently and expressed an interest in gaining playing time. He is valued member of our group here and as such we wanted to work together with him to find a solution. “This type of situation requires a bit of maturity from all involved and although it is competitive sport it is still about people and relationships. Hartlepool are a well managed club and we know will provide a good environment for Richie to find his mojo.” I don't know where to start with that shoddily written piece of shite. "He is valued member of our group here .....Hartlepool are a well managed club and we know will provide a good environment for Richie to find his mojo" Who the f*** wrote that, a 15 year-old work experience lad? Stott's money is being well spent there.

The comms coming out of the club are dire.

Stretton has been recalled and is on Derby's bench today. Good luck to the lad.
Nathan Shaw has also been recalled by Blackpool. Similarly, good luck on your future too.

Shame we’ve let Richie Bennett out on loan! Time for Rusk to show some tactical nouse.

Stretton has been excellent for us. A shame to see him go, although think I am right in saying that today's game would have been the last one of his loan spell?
Hopefully, we may see him back at EP as a longer-term loanee in due course!

Meanwhile, at Boreham Wood... Couldn't make it up! Which is why you don't loan your top players out to promotion rivals. He has a point to prove. If Challinor can see something in him why cant our management? 4 goals, 10 assists according to Herms stats. Are we also paying some of his wages?

Stretton came off the bench and lasted 20 minutes before going off with an ankle injury.
