Anyway I should have known this match was one I should have missed.... the afternoon started off well with a trip up to Leeds after trying to negotiate a diversion and the sat nav re-directing me or forever calculating I joined the massive queue of cars heading out of town. On average 3 cars went through each traffic light change.. anyway to cut a long story short I arrived on Cemetry Road at 20:15 and managed to squeeze in between 2 parked cars with inches to spare (and honest guv I didnt touch either bumper)...missing most of the first half. Eppie why are the diversion signs so bad or is it me ;? where were you going from in leeds? did you go out of leeds at pudsey and have to cross bradford? i always find that a right pain in the a_r_s. i live in north leeds so that would be the shortest route for me easily, but both times i've been to BPA, i've got on the M621 in south-west leeds then the M62 and M606. it's only just over a mile to the ground after getting off the M606 and probably took half an hour all told, even though it's a bit circuitous. ars - from Leeds Uni sat nav normally takes you back to the M62 i think via the M606. The link road to that was closed and I think I ended up going via the A647 along with half of the Leeds traffic. I found the diversion signs really confusing and having an old satnav didnt help. Used to use a map but thats a bit unfashionable now but at least that gives you a sense of in what direction you need to go , as with satnavs you could go to a city and not even know whether you are in the N, S, W or East.... to be honest I should have left a bit earlier

to be honest I should have left a bit earlier yeah, i find myself thinking that on many occasions approaching a ground with the game already underway... that's a crapper. i went on the inner ring road (the bit with the tunnels under the city centre). if you go down the hill from the uni, you can get on it after a quarter of a mile or so. then up to the armley gyratory, and on the M621 at elland road. that's obviously busy if leeds are playing at home, but otherwise not too bad. if you ever need to do it again, i'd think about that.
