I agree with everything you say there, Rog, and I'm glad it's not just me that doesn't like van Gurning. Wayne Mardle irritates me more though, he's embarrassing with his gushing over the petulant Dutchman.

Wayne Mardle will be appearing on Sky in a f*****g green MVG shirt on New Year's day, the man is an absolute embarrassment. It's bad enough having a clown who never won a thing in his career being wheeled out as an expert but he's just irritating to the extreme with his obsession with the dutchman, who will now go on to win this tournament, but I can't bear his histrionics on the oche. It really is too much.
I've turned it off now, I can't bear the lad, and Mardle sounds like he is about to empty himself in that commentary box! I just hope Peter Wright can cause an upset, but I doubt it. Uncle Fester's name was on the trophy the moment Gary Anderson imploded.

Well, I've been wrong on every prediction so far and no doubt it will continue, as am going for a 7-6 classic either man.

I'll put it on for the first three sets, if Uncle Fester is 3-0 up by then, I'll be switching it off.
I'm struggling to fathom why a group of British Darts fans would boo any British player and cheer on a Dutchman, but that's been the mentality of your average PDC crowd during this tournament. I think it's the catchy 'White Stripes' tune, anything repetitive and easy to learn will always attract the morons. Monkey see, monkey do.
van Gerwen is a cocky pr*ck who needs to learn some respect, he intimidates with his antics on the oche, and the way he moves up and hovers around behind the thrower as he's chucking his last dart needs to be looked at too. A big lad like him will make his presence felt by moving around the way he does that close up, and he needs telling about it.
I hope Wayne Mardle has packed some spare tissues for tonight too, it could get messy in the commentary box otherwise.
Looking forward to the Lakeside now, the PDC just hasn't been the same this year, far too many big players have been disappointing, and the crowds are just not interested in the darts as much as they are at goading the fans in the cheaper seats for being "poor". Kn*b heads.

Taken from wikipedia, good news, Duds:
On the 6th January 2013 it was announced the BBC had signed a 3 year deal to show the Lakeside World Championships from 2014-2016, on the 4th December 2013 it was announced the BBC will show the tournament exclusively in Britain which they did from 1978-2011 with ESPN now owned by BT Sport dropping Darts. This means every dart will be shown live on BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Red Button, BBC Website and the BBC i-player. It was also announced the coverage would still be presented by Colin Murray and Bobby George which it has been since 2010 despite Colin Murray leaving Match of the Day 2 and BBC Radio 5 Live to move to Talksport.

That's 2-0 already to the gobsh*te, one more set and I'm switching off. Wright has left his darts at home and brought a bag of nails by the looks of it.

3-0, that's goodbye to the 2014 PDC Final for me, shocking performance from Wright.

Wright had double top for the set, unlucky. Hard to get back now from 5-2. Playing much better though.
