Agreed! Promotion would be lovely but as they say, Rome wasn't built in a day. A solid top half finish and not too many embarrassingly poor losses.

AFC Fylde will play Ashton United in the Evo Stick Play-Off Final this weekend.
FC United of Manchester knocked out after extra time last night by Ashton. Could be a visit to the Fylde coast on the cards for all you regular away dayers !!

Love it, Lennie. I used to know a guy from Wiggin who worked at DHL as a forklift truck driver a few years ago, he always had an FC United hat on, and when I told him I was a Stockport County supporter his responses was: "who the f**k are they?", "got more history then you, you're all United fans who can't afford to get in" was my retort, he just laughed it off. I sincerely hope he was at that game last night.
Karma? Sort of.

Play offs a minimum.
And get more record attendances with Edgeley Park rocking.

Play offs a minimum. And get more record attendances with Edgeley Park rocking. What's all this shouting about play-offs and promotion? We'll have no optimism here! This is a County forum, for County people; there's nothing for your upbeat kind here.......

I'm normally really optimistic about the new season. We should do well if we can keep a core of players and add quality to them. We should have continuity with AL as manager and a whole pre-season to get things sorted.
Add to the that things may be getting better behind the scenes (obviously the big issue remains getting EP back) but with McKnight, Snape and Fearn gone and County people in behind the scenes we should be a lot more united as a club. Right from the directors, fans, manager and players - something that has been desperately lacking for the past 5 seasons.
With a successful campaign I think we could get 4,000 fans regularly and maybe up to 5,000 at home games. The club must maintain matc-hday ticket prices next season. If they go up it will be a bit of a blow for the pay on the day fans (like me) who have put up with some dross for the last few years.
The clubs coming down from the Conference don't appear to hold any threat and are unlikely to bounce back in my opinion. And with FCUM missing out on promotion (hahaha) I don't think any of the clubs coming will be likely to go straight up (I don't think any of them are being bank rolled like North Ferriby. If NF don't go up this season I think they'll be favourites to go up as they have the cash to do it.
So expectations. Top half as a minimum, play offs as a realistic goal and auto promotion if everything goes well...

AFC Fylde will need watching if they come up. Some serious money being spent there.
Manager - Dave Challinor !!!

I hope Ashton United come up personally. Not only is it far closer for me (and most other County fans) they're also a great example of how a small local club should be run. Never spending out of their comfort zone and constantly doing community work.
I think of all the teams coming down only Chester are likely to make a really fist at promotion. I can genuinely see Hyde battling relegation again (not that the season just gone was much of a battle!) and Tamworth will be midtable. I think Chorley and Ashton would be closer to the bottom than the top but if Fylde come up, like Lennie says, could definitely make an assault on promotion.
