Twixt the optimist and pessimist The difference is quite droll: The optimist sees the doughnut But the pessimist sees the hole. McLandburgh Wilson

As things stand at the moment I can't see anything other than a mid table finish. Hopefully i'm proven wrong, hopefully Lordy will get some decent players in and find a goal scorer that will take the league by storm.

I hope Ashton United come up personally. Not only is it far closer for me (and most other County fans) they're also a great example of how a small local club should be run. Never spending out of their comfort zone and constantly doing community work. I think of all the teams coming down only Chester are likely to make a really fist at promotion. I can genuinely see Hyde battling relegation again (not that the season just gone was much of a battle!) and Tamworth will be midtable. I think Chorley and Ashton would be closer to the bottom than the top but if Fylde come up, like Lennie says, could definitely make an assault on promotion. Not bothered who comes up so long as they bring some fans to EP. It's a disgrace how few fans from opposition fans come to EP excepting Staleyvegas , Alty and Telford. The atmosphere at EP for those 3 matches was much better. We're just seen as a payday by the oppo teams at their home games.

Promotion has to be the aim, realistically I will be happy with play offs!

AFC Fylde - promoted to Skrill North. Beat Ashton Utd 4-3 on pens after 1-1 draw.
Drinks at the Birley Arms, Warton. You walk through the pub car park to get to the ground. Average home attendance 270!! How will they fit the County travelling hoards in !

Sounds good, Lennie. Hopefully, the fixtures computer will not hand us a trip to the seaside in mid-Winter...
And well done, Dave Challinor!

We shall definitely still have Hednesford and North Ferriby amongst our number next term.
Both are staying put, whilst Alty and Guiseley go on to contest the Skrill North Play-off Final...

Fylde's new ground will be a bit like Fleetwood's new stand. I have heard Aldi or Lidl are on board as well as training/community facilities being included. It will be next to the junction for Kirkham on the M55 (great transport links).
Local blue rinse brigade not very happy about it.

I want to be really optimistic about the next season and would love the excitement of the play-offs. As to the dizzy heights of direct promotion, I don't think I would believe that was happening!
Just going to take each game as it comes this season though I do feel this could be a good one, fingers crossed.

On the fringes of the play offs or just creeping in.

PS. The optimist sees the light at the end of the tunnel and sees the end of the tunnel. The pessimist sees the light at the end of the tunnel and sees an oncoming train.
