To be honest 77 I tend to have more faith in you and the people currently in charge like SB than this plan that's come out. I feel the way the club is being run at the moment is the best we have had in years and part of me wants it to carry on this way. Nail on head post, ste.

hmm. i feel like i'm back on the normal uphill slope of county. didn't take long! i was positive about the fans forum and recent co-op information though, so as long as it doesn't destabilise that, i'm still keen to see what this lot have got. That is a fair comment, mate.

Had a madcap dream a few nights agon before this broke..must have been the drugs and I'm sure you can pick a number of seriously large holes in it, but I thought afterwards if life was that simple its such an easy solution, although would take a lot of admin work...
Assuming there are 200,000 council tax payers in the Borough (guess if wrong adjust the figs), £10 per person would make £2M. SMBC gift that to the Club/Co-op to buy the ground for the Community - covenants set up etc. (in partnership; stronger together just doesnt seem to figure in the new business plan from the new consortium..)
In return the club issue 133,333 £15 tickets and gift to SMBC to distribute in tranches by area over the course of the season. (with expiry dates). These are sent out; controls would need to be put in place to identify the person and address Utility bill, so its not abused. We shuld have the stadium capacity to cope.
Not sure how we sit with tax, smbc etc but imagine if those could be overcome... anyway then I work up....madcap eh...

What baffles me is there doesnt seem to be any will to work with the club. Good to see something trying to be done, but why cant it be a joint initiative for both to work together. Ego's have no part in this and will always be detrimental to any future relationships.
I would like to see law passed which says if you are a shareholder of any club that loans are not permissable - they have to be gifts.
Good to see the Gibbons situation being highlighted in the newspaper. Seriously can someone remind me what they added to the club when they were here? I believe they were associated with Hyde, and now they are associated with Vegas.. I wonder for how long...

This ^^^ As for the Gibbons, I wouldn't trust them to look after a pair of jeans, given their record with football clubs the arse would fall out of them within weeks.

what did they add? quite a bit of whining, it seems to me. and this club-hopping?!?
you're bang-on about the egos. we haven't got time for them anymore. i suppose the difficulty is that ideas people and action people often seem to have pretty sizeable ones.

It's never a good idea to post late at night after a skinful, been there, done that. And you never know who you'll bump into on messageboards at that ungodly hour!

There really isn't a division, a lot of people seem to have had their noses put out of joint, and are behaving like smacked-arses if I'm being honest. I'm certainly not claiming any moral high ground here.
The plan is all about bringing everybody together.
Often the most successful Marriages start with a punch up at the Wedding!
FANS+EP=SCFC
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is reported that went down at the Fans Forum is inexcusable. How is this post above supposed to unite the fans. All it has done is put more divisions and why wasnt it channelled via the co-op and voted on and then progressed with the club. This kind of 'force your hand' is a disgrace and shows a total lack of respect for the Co-op and the fans.
Not happy at all.

I don't take him seriously any more. Calling fellow fans idiots for buying a season ticket and paying into the players fund pushed me over the edge.
I was at my limit when he took the piss out of fellow fans on our own forum when he asked a loaded question about whether we would back the Melrose bid knowing that he was putting together the 2015 group in the background.

I wasn't too happy with that either, Downy. We were all strung out and fed up during that long uncertain spell of Administration, and he could have given us some crumbs of comfort without compromising his plan, yet he decided not to.
Regarding his involvement in 2015's inception, after all we've been through following the ultimate disaster of that group I have mixed feelings regarding him bringing them together. On the one hand I wonder if we would have been better by just folding and rebooting the club from scratch at that time, yet on the other I can't be sure that it would have worked, so I am ultimately grateful to him that we still have a club.
I'm sick of his constant 'phoenix club' comments while we're still an injured club trying to recover, and I do wonder whether his involvement in this latest consortium is powered by an "if it goes tits up we'll get to try the phoenix club I want anyway" attitude. Having said all of that, he should never take any of the flak for the failure of the 2015 group. He got off his arse and did something he genuinely thought would help, what were his critics on MB doing aside from picking holes in it?
