Just back from The Venue,Park Hall, Oswestry (home to the most successful Welsh football team ever).
Played on quarter sized pitches on the FULL SIZED 3G surface at the main ground (to be dug up and replaced next Spring). Such is the investment going into this magnificent place.
Started with a 1-0 (late goal) defeat, then a 3-0 win. Next an incredible 3-3 draw with a 2-1 win to complete the group stages. 2nd place put us into the semi-finals where sadly we lost 2-1 to Shrewsbury who then lost 4-2 in the final to TNS (who only beat us 1-0 earier).
This was followed by a corporate 2 course lunch and access to the afternoon home game vs Prestatyn (6-0 win to TNS). All in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
Next up Fleetwood Town away next week, 21st, trying to persuade the lads we need another overnight stay to prepare adequately.
Thanks for all the support on here. If we ever play our full first team we will cause some serious damage !!!

Seriously brilliant effort that, Lennie, and for an utterly brilliant cause! And as for this: Next up Fleetwood Town away next week, 21st, trying to persuade the lads we need another overnight stay to prepare adequately. Do you think the missus will buy it?.....

Thanks for the support Gents.
Sadly knocked-out by an ex-semi-pro crashing through from midfield with a hell of a right foot shot. One top corner and second bottom corner. Got a hand to them but beaten by pace from 15 yards out. The second goal coming from what should have been our throw-in, they took a quick one and caught the two defenders out of position, one who was still off the pitch having gone to retrieve the ball for our roll in.
They also flattened our box to box midfield general/captain early on.
will just have to take it out on Fleetwood.

Well done, Len. Sounds like you had a great time.
Now it's clearly a case of Fleetwood beware.

Good stuff, Lennie.
Try for the American tour. Walking in Memphis has a ring to it.

Playing in goals means that I "Walk the Line" as well.
Good one Archie.
We were thinking that if San Marino had a walking international team we would stand a good chance of beating them.

Do some research into it! It may have been a joke but who knows!

North of England Regional Finals of the "Walking Football United National Championships" in Blackburn this weekend.
Sadly some teams have withdrawn so just 3 sides competing (at least we will be bronze medalists).
Report to follow asap.

Good luck Lennie!
Does one side have a bye to the final or is it a round robin?

Good luck Lennie! Does one side have a bye to the final or is it a round robin? Playing each other twice for 2 points for a game win. One for a draw. If a tie it's the aggregate score over the two legs. The "boys" beat Fleetwood 4 times in 4 games on Tuesday without me !!! Fighting for my place back tonight.
