Missing that header for 2-0 was a turning point. Lucky to take it to extra time after Carlisle bossed us. A step too far and Sarc and Paddy were needed for the pens, in my opinion. But, we go again. We have missed Woots up front in the last few games and that slow start to the season cost us dearly in the end. Wrexham, Notts Co , Gillingham , Mansfield and Salford will need to be dispatched next time. So it's no given. A great first season back but a chance to kick on with the majority of the side still capable of one more effort at this level. Think we would have needed to ship a few in League 1. Excellent post, Gaffer.

There is nobody, and I DO mean nobody, more County than Kenny: What, not even Jimmy Timms? (I may be showing my vintage with that one).

Thing is, we know that there's no-one in this division to fear from last season, and yes Wrecktum and Notts County will come in with high expectations, although a couple of early losses could put the skids under them like it almost did with us.
As for the 4 teams coming down Forest Green look very weak based on last season and Accy Stanley, Morecambe and MK Dons also look vulnerable having scored 40 - 47 each and shipped 77 & 78 & 66 respectively.
A couple of good additions, a lot of practicing on shots / headers etc to ensure we convert a good % of chances (too often we missed too many last season), a better start to the season and we should be in the automatic spots (after 11 games we had 9 points, so we got 70 points from the next 35 games, even with a couple of wobbly stretches after Christmas and later on).

There is nobody, and I DO mean nobody, more County than Kenny: Kenny sat with me at my desk in the press area, and we enjoyed a good natter to lift the tension around us. What an absolute legend, and thoroughly lovely bloke, he is.

No one to blame for the loss. Sadly we couldn't find that second goal. Played in sweltering conditions. 2 of our top penalty takers were off the pitch.
Not much difference in the stats - but highlights 16 shots but only 1 on target.
Possession Carlisle 50 % / County 50 % Shots 10 / 16 Shots on target 4 / 1 Corners 5 / 5 Fouls 19 /14
Sadly a great opportunity missed. Next season will certainly be a lot more competitive, so we have to hit the ground running or we will have to go through the play off lottery again..........
