Sounds like they couldnt get the targets over the line. Hussey should be good for a season or two. Okwute sounds like a good prospect - lets hope better than Curran and Alli who were prolific scorers at a lower level.
We really do need an out and out proven striker as backup even if its only a loan deal. Strikers need to fight for place week in week out and not just default to being picked as we dont have enough of them. Considering the recruitment personnel we have on board I am not sure why we have not been able to attract that sort of player.
Worried about the Wombles of Wimbledon tomorrow. We'll be up against a high press again.
No match will be easy this season.

Pilks was a year younger when he came to us and look how he turned out!
If Daniel turns out even half as good we'll be laughing!

Incidentally, the last Kerryman who went over to England in recent seasons was Shane McLoughlin, who is rather struggling for game time with Morecambe at present, but had a few very successful years in midfield for Wimbledon in League One.

I’m all for bringing in new talent where ever it comes from. But you cannot bring in a young player in a struggling team. This has been done before & they have been expected to be the saviour. On paper this squad is supposed to be in the upper half of the table if the stated high league experience is excepted. So why are some these players lacking in confidence & making fundamental mistakes. DC has mentioned this in his post match interviews many times but seems unable to correct it. I really hope we get a result today & I go home happy. If not, pressure will be mounting for all.

Interesting looking at the team sheet for today (H Wimbledon) of the 11 starters and 7 subs I make it only 6 players that were here before DC took charge: MSH and Collar among the starters and Hinchcliffe, Kitching, Croasdale and Jennings on the bench.
So that's fully 2/3 of the squad for today are new hires under DC. I still feel that this squad will adapt but like I've said elsewhere, it takes time for a side to settle, especially with so many new players. I'm keeping the faith, while also fingers crossed.

Yes it does take time to get a team working the way you want them to & establishing a strong core of players who will play week on week. But DC still hasn't found that yet as he himself has said in many post match interviews. What is quite alarming is that Quigley scored twice today & an assist. What has he found in Rochdale who are struggling as much as County that he can produce after such a goal drought until now.

Quigley is a strange situation - proven goalscorer but (if I remember right) he was injured fairly early on and never really produced the sort of form we expected from him. I don't know if that was because he was being used more as a Target Man a la Ian Helliwell, or maybe his injury never really healed, or just a run of bad form that happens to all players eventually.
I like to think that maybe he can rediscover his form and then maybe we bring him back and he shows what he's capable of. I'm a bug believer in underdog/comeback stories - I was an underdog myself for most of my adult life. I'm glad I no longer have to beat the odds on a daily basis while working for people who cannot imagine how hard things are for me, and never gave me the credit I deserved. Ah well, water under the bridge now.
Isn't Ben Barclay at Carlisle? I'm not sure if he played today.

Yup, Barclay is on a season-long loan to Carlisle, but he's missed the past 5 match-day squads after suffering injury.
I doubt we'll see either him or Quigley in a County shirt again, even though both have a season after this to run on their contracts, I believe.

No worries! Their season is rather petering out now, as they have slipped to fourth in the table, but a far more important deadline is coming up in mid-November, when Kerry FC are widely expected to gain a senior licence, meaning they would make a First Division debut in February.

That does seem a little strange, mate, unless he's lacking fitness or carrying a knock?
