I was, like many others gutted to see Sam Minihan leave the club for so called first team action, then to see Brown recruited on loan almost simultaneously. Why? He has mainly played in Ireland. DC has again recently stated the club will not be adding to the squad unless the player is of a better quality. Looking at Brown's performances he certainly is a good addition but any better than Sam? Looking at the BBC's transfer news, many 2nd division clubs are adding to their ranks. Salford being one of them with Lorent Tolaj from Brighton. Swindon's goal scorer Blake-Tracey has come from Burton. The teams DC has put out so far have massively under performed if there quality is to be believed. He has to either get these players to perform consistently & get results or bring in fresh who are of better quality because the current form just isn't good enough.
Minihan & Keane in defence for Halifax for today's win. Well done!

The recruitment has been poor, without question, but who exactly is pulling the strings on that front?
I'm willing to bet that Wilson is sticking his oar in again.

Quigley's gone to Rochdale on a season-long loan. Good luck to him. I hope we bring in a replacement tonight....cue Quigs on the scoresheet every week from now on.

Only we can ship a striker out and bring nobody in with our main man banned for three f***ing games...
f*** off, Wilson, you useless waste of a f***ing wage. Mark Stott needs to take that laptop and smack him around the f***ing head with it.
We're heading for a relegation scrap here, everyone.

Mark Stott needs to take that laptop and smack him around the f***ing head with it. We're heading for a relegation scrap here, everyone. It's said that we live in a "post-truth" age. That statement is usually reserved for politicians like Patel who have just been found out lying to parliament (I prefer to call it as it is rather than use the term "mislead"). Once upon a time it would have led to a politician resigning, these days it doesn't even warrant an apology. I rather see it as a post-decency age which includes lying but also includes failing to take responsibility for anything, and in particular all sorts of failure. I suspect any questions to Wilson about the abject failure of the club's recruitment policy will be deflected by the kind of bland, emotionless stonewalling of the born middle manager with precisely f*** all to say. Quigley will probably go on to thrive at Rochdale, in much the same way that Whitfield has done at Barrow meanwhile, National League players picked up on free transfer's make little impression on games. Challinor has his work cut out this season because if last week's game is anything to go by, we are both individually and collectively some distance from teams competing for a play-off place. Too many players who thrived playing at a level apparently below their ability seem to be struggling to compete at a higher level so yes, despite it still being too early to judge, mid-table will be the best we can hope for without a dramatic improvement.

Quigley will probably go on to thrive at Rochdale... Kristian Dennis 2.0? Something's not quite right at County this season, but it won't be Simon 'everything looks better on a laptop' Wilson that will end up carrying the can if it all goes to s**t, that's for sure.

I agree with all the comments especially On the Bench. I made the same comments on this thread previously. The teams pushing for at least the play off's have already recruited & from a higher level. The recruitment so far is beginning to annoy. Success will not come from lower league's or Ireland. Just a few maybe in Mullen (Wrexham), Tshimanga (Chesterfield). Cannot see them leaving current clubs unless plenty of £££ is offered. Yes, Hussey may well turn out good the same as Brown. Matches are coming thick & fast but County seem to be behind the curve. Wootton has still to show his Notts County form, Quigley out on loan & Madden suspended. New addition Okwute, is supposed to be a Project!! All a little too late. I suggest DC will be under severe pressure IF there's a loss against AFC Wimbledon tomorrow. They will be no push over. Most of the squad additions so far have been free transfers so I foresee Stott having to dig deep into his wallet to get some REAL quality in.

I'm starting to wonder if the purse strings have been tightened to see if DC can get us moving forward again, with the budget being preserved in case a change is needed later in the season. This isn't me saying DC should be under threat, because he absolutely shouldn't, but I've seen it happen so many times in football, not least with Jim. I hope I'm wrong, because the least thing we need is another change. The only person that should be under pressure is Wilson, because he's already f***ed up massively with Rusk and the recruitment that coincided with his disastrous spell in charge, so DC should not be under the spotlight here, it should be McKnight 2.0. Never warmed to him, never will.

Re Okwute, just want to give some local context about his career to date, and what that may mean for his prospects at County. Basically, Kerry has traditionally been somewhat overlooked when it comes to soccer, being geographically distant from the centres of the game in Cork and Dublin, so players generally only played for clubs in county leagues. Over the last decade, however, Kerry teams have had access to the League of Ireland at underage level, where Okwute has been the top scorer in the U19 division this season. Indeed, he would already have played in the First Division by now, but it is only now that Kerry FC are applying to join the senior national league. Over the last few months, he has already had trials with Stoke and Blackpool, so while he may be raw yet for League Two, he could do a decent job for you if required.

Hello, mate, thanks for joining to give us this insight. It sounds like this kid has something, but I do hope that our club have compensated you fairly for his signature. What kind of player is he, what are his standout attributes? Aside from goals, obviously!

Very pacy player, no hesitation about taking on defenders, and will basically shoot on sight. More of an instinctive poacher than someone who will set up a better-placed teammate, but that's a common trait with most young strikers.

That sounds to me like he's an exciting prospect. Have you seen much of our League Two football? If so, do you think he's ready to take the step up, even if only from the bench?
We're really struggling to score goals as you probably know, so any additions that can help us with that would be hugely welcomed!
