These... A favourite of mine since I can remember, you were always popular in school if you had a quarter of these in your coat pocket! Baker's convenience store on Hempshaw Lane is a regular stop whenever I am visiting my family back in Stockport, as they've always got a jar in there! I can't find them anywhere in Scousepool, though, but I'm sure they'd be popular here if they sold them - everyone that's tried one of mine really liked them. Steak puddings aren't a thing here either, uncultured swines!

I don't work Fridays anymore so for me Thursday is the start of the weekend and there's nowt I like better than to start it with chips, peas and curry sauce from the chippy up the road. The proprietor looks at me gone out because clearly chips, peas and curry sauce isn't a thing up here. How weird is that?

It's crazy how regional dishes don't travel well at all, isn't it, even if they're totally doable. Did you ever get Chips, peas, gravy and fish bits back in the day, Yorks? The Regal on Hempshaw Lane used to collect the bits of floating batter that fell off their fish and put them in a little container next to the fryers. They would then place the chips, then peas, with the fish bits on top in a tray, and then gravy on top of that! I can't remember if they used to charge for them, it can't have been much if they did, but boy was that one fantastic lunchtime treat during my school days!

The Truman Show.
Jim Carrey is completely overlooked when it comes to handing out the plaudits for acting talent, but in my opinion he could have been one of the great actors of our time. He's made some seriously funny movies, but The Truman Show - for me, anyway - is a look at what he could and should have been.
An incredible movie and an incredible performance.

Welsh darts player Jonny Clayton.
Not just because he's just beaten Michael fat Gurning 6-4 in the Premier League in Liverpool tonight after being 4-1 down, but because he's absolutely f***ing brilliant to watch.
Doesn't f*** about, doesn't fear anyone, doesn't play mind games, just goes up there and chucks his darts - fantastic player.

Beating Uncle Fester was a massive plus, that's for sure, but I just like the way he goes about his business. Doesn't get involved in any antics up there, just plays the game and always has a respectful handshake for his opponent - win or lose.
Sure, he gets pumped when he hits the big numbers and the big shots, but it's minimal and never disrespectful to his opponent like the Dutchman and Clayton's fellow countryman Gerwyn Price have been at times.
He's what I call a 'proper' Darts player.

I really have to offer up TIKTOK once again.
My girlfriend's niece is in our house making videos and it's seriously making my teeth itch, f*** me!
I don't want to come across as violent or anything, but I seriously want to cut the b*****ks off the tw## who invented it and feed them to him on the end of a f**kin javelin!

'As Good As It Gets'.
While I've always maintained that 'The Shawshank Redemption' is my greatest ever movie, this absolute 90s masterpiece starring Jack Nicholson, Helen Hunt, Greg Kinnear and Cuba Gooding Jr really pushes it close.
For anyone that hasn't seen it, you really are missing out!

The best TV programme theme. Ever... apart from White Horses... I had to quote it here to avoid spoiling the flow of your phenomenal music association thread, Maccy, but I couldn't agree more, mate. I grew up absolutely hooked on Gerry Anderson's genius creations and Barry Gray was a genius of a composer who, along with the brilliant vocals of Blackpool-born Gary Miller (who also sang 'Marina' on the closing credits), created the best TV theme ever - great shout, Maccy! I'm not ashamed one bit to say that the big kid in me still loves this stuff and I have all the classic Gerry Anderson TV shows on my PC hard drive! What can I say, I'm a Century 21 nerd!
