If it wasn't for their 'keeper, it could have been at least 6! He flapped at that second goal, though, but that was some excellent approach play and finishing.

So following on from our home victory we travelled down the coast to Gibraltar. Well almost as the ground (which holds over 10,000) is under the shadow of the rock. Apparently built as big and as close to the rock to show the nosy Brit’s that Franco’s Spain was a powerful nation.
Anyway onto the game, we played well against a side securely in mid table but neither team troubled the scorers. Other results were reasonably kind and so we closed the gap to safety to a mere eight points (with three games remaining) seven away from the relegation playoff spot.
Onward rolls the bus to another home game, I was in Madrid and so fortunately missed our drunken idiotic Ultras fighting amongst themselves and spoiling the game for everyone else. It was a 5pm kick off and so they had had plenty of drinking time under the warm Spanish sun. I have composed another email to send to the club expressing our feelings over these yobs.
Anyway, on the pitch El Palo won again 1-0 thanks to Juanma Fernandez who is on loan from Leganés B. We are now four points off the relegation playoff spot and five from safety with two games remaining.
Next weekend we travel to distant Andalucian cousins San Roque de Lepe just the 341 kilometres away. They are currently one point above us, we need to win this to realistically have a chance of staying up. Our last game is home to champions elect Sevilla B (hopefully they are promoted next weekend and will have been on the party bus for a week before we play them!)

Fantastic update, Duds. I refer to my recent post... Whatever happens, Duds, as long as the boys give each remaining game every ounce of effort and play with honesty and integrity, then they cannot be seen as a failure. This is exactly what they're doing now, mate and if there's any justice, Lady Luck will be smiling on the boys and they'll pull this off! Sigue así, Paleños

Having now ensured we will go at least two months without defeat, sadly a 0-0 draw away to San Roque de Lepe when combined with other results was enough to see El Palo relegated with one game remaining.
Next week sees the champions come to town. Let’s see if we can give them a bloody nose to end the campaign!

Commiserations, Duds, they've battled well, and to keep their hopes alive until the penultimate game is still an incredible effort. Hopefully they can keep this unbeaten run going and maybe even end the season on a high. They will be back again soon enough, and the next time they will be better prepared for it. Sigue así, Paleños!

Unlucky Duds
It wasn't meant to be, a step too far. Enjoy the last game then.

Thanks Gazz and Lennie. Without a goal scorer it was always going to be difficult.
In brighter news Destiny scored again (his 5th of the season) as his team Antequera beat Ibiza who were in the second tier last year. His team are currently 3 points off the playoff places.
