The two biggest wins of the day were at table-toppers Grimsby (6-0 v Dover) and at Torquay (5-0 v Wealdstone).
Having recently beaten Notts (who lost again today at home to Woking), Alty managed an excellent win away at The Daggers. Alty have taken 15 from just 7 games, which is a fantastic return.
Having picked up just 1 point in the previous 5 games, King's Lynn managed their 2nd win of the season at Maidenhead.
Newby replaced ex-Hatter Harvey Gilmour with 25 to play as Halifax had a scoreless draw at Barnet.
Jimmy Ball scored as Solihull dispatched Southend, a side who are looking more and more like they'll be nearer the bottom than the top this season.
In the evening game, Boreham Wood continued their promising start to the season with a draw at Eastleigh, a result which settles them in 4th, 2 points off the top.
There are some decent ones scheduled for Tuesday, including Alty v Grimsby, Wrexham v Chesterfield, Halifax v Notts, and Woking (who have beaten Chesterfield and Notts in their last games) v The Daggers.

Of the more interesting games...
League leaders Grimsby almost had a nightmare at Alty. Leading 3-0, the visitors had a man sent off and then shipped 2, but Alty just fell short of an equaliser.
Boreham Wood saw off Torquay and sit 2nd.
Halifax moved into 3rd in an amazing game which saw visitors Notts 2-0 up and Halifax reduced to 10 on the hour mark. Enter Warby and Newby from the bench! Halifax clawed back 2 and then, way into added time, Warby got the winner! That was Notts' 3rd consecutive loss so it'll be a good time for us to play them soon... hopefully.
The Daggers suffered their 3rd defeat in 4 games, this time away at Woking, who move into 8th with games in hand. Woking have beaten Chesterfield, Notts and The Daggers in their last 3 then - some feat.
Chesterfield's draw at Wrexham now means they're without a win in their last 3, although they still sit in the mix in 5th. Tshimanga had a penalty saved in that one. Wrexham sit a point below us in 12th.
Bromley comfortably dispatched Weymouth for their 4th consecutive win, moving themselves into 6th with games in hand.
Solihull make up the last playoff place, having had a bit of a bore draw at Wealdstone. Both sides had energy and chances first half but it dwindled as tiredness crept in. In the 2nd half Maynard was moved from CB into CM and so formed a midfield with Jimmy Ball.

Too bad we are doing Halifax a favour. Exactly, Ceef. How many times are we going to do this before we realise that it's a f***ing stupid idea? What is it with this club and stupidity?

5 home wins (all with clean sheets), 6 away wins and no draws in the league today.
Phil Brown's been relieved of his duties at Southend. They suffered a 4-0 defeat at home to Chesterfield.
Early pace-setters The Daggers have now lost 4 of their last 5, as they went down to Boreham Wood.
Notts ended their run of 3 consecutive losses with a win at Yeovil.
Solihull (at King's Lynn) and Grimsby (at Woking) scored very late goals to seal their 1-0 away wins.
Torquay's miserable start continued with a loss on TV (a 3pm Saturday game!) to Bromley, a side which looks like one of the most physically commanding in the league. That's 5 wins on the trot for Bromley and they're the only team to beat Grimsby so far.
Wins for Halifax and Alty see them both continue their good starts, punching above their weight.

Bromley beat Aldershot away (their 6th consecutive victory in the league) and I believe they might well be the only NL side to have scored in every game they've played. Grimsby (who beat Yeovil) and Boreham Wood (who lost to Chesterfield) have scored in all but one NL fixture - they both failed to score against us.
After 3 successive league defeats, The Daggers got back on track with a win over struggling Southend.
The main other game of the day saw Jimmy Ball's Solihull edging out Warby's Halifax to put themselves into the last playoff place.

A 90th minute winner for Notts saw hosts Grimsby drop to 3rd, and it's back-to-back 1-0 loses for them now. Notts are up to 6th.
The Daggers squandered a 2 goal first half lead as Chesterfield replied with 2 2nd half goals in as many minutes - the equaliser from Tshimanga.
And the forward's old side Boreham Wood edged Southend to take top spot and return Southend into the relegation zone.
Bromley are now unbeaten in 8 as they saw out a goalless draw with Halifax. They sit 6 points off top spot with 2 games in hand.
In the evening game, our Tuesday opponent Barnet have been struggling to overcome a poor Aldershot side but have just scored a great individual goal to take the lead with 5 minutes to play.

Southend won at home to Dover, a result which lifts them 3 points clear of relegation.
Bromley had another good win, this time away at Woking, which leaves them 4th and 3 points off top with a game in hand.

Wrexham won 5-0 at Aldershot last night which meant they climbed above us into 9th due to goal difference.
Aside from ours, Saturday's other 'big game' is Notts (7th) at home to Solihull (6th) - both are in top 5 form sides over last 5 games.
Altrincham (11th) host leaders Boreham Wood, but Alty have only taken 4 points from their last 5 games while Boreham Wood are top of the 'last 5' form table.
Wrexham, on the same points as us, head to King's Lynn and should expect to win, and Woking, 2 points behind, should expect to do the same away at Southend.

Yes, but.... clean sheets, fine margins and points gained, ya know. The gain was low, and the Rusk was.....erm....low.
