The opening day game between Yeovil and Wrexham is off due to COVID in Yeovil's camp.

Good idea for an annual thread, H. Duly 'stickied' for ease of reference!

Cheers, Maccy.
Dover v Solihull has also fallen foul to Dover having the same issue as Yeovil.
As a result of all the above, Solihull will now host Wrexham on the opening day.

Just to be clear, my 'like' is for the thread idea, H, not the Covid issue! Great idea, mate.

Cheers, Gazz.
Some NL sides faced off against one another in the final pre-season game yesterday.
Our opening day opponents The Daggers ran out 3-1 winners over Eastleigh, and were 3 up at HT.
Solihull drew 2-2 with Notts County, with the visiting side managing to come back from 2-0 down with 10 men, after their defender was straight red-carded just 15 minutes into the game!
Chesterfield edged out Grimsby 2-1 with all goals coming in the the opening 35 minutes, including a 1st minute goal from Chesterfield.

Cheers for sharing, archie.
Reckon that the odds on Dover staying up will be close to those against their going up!

It looks like 11 games should be on today and all 5 sides yet to play a game, including our midweek opponent Grimsby, will commence their campaigns.
Of those who won their opening game and are expected to be competitive for top places, Boreham Wood (v Aldershot and Dover this week) and Chesterfield (v Wealdstone and King's Lynn) seem to have the best 'on paper' chance of heading the league with a 100% record come next Saturday.
Elsewhere, Notts play Torquay and Wrexham this week. With the more stable squad compared to both opponents, as well as the manager being in place longer than Wrexham's, we shall see if they can get the results at a time which might favour them.

The stand out match tonight is Wrexham hosting Notts, a game which is live on BT for anyone interested. Both sides are thus far unbeaten.
Notts failed to take their chance of 3 points at home to Torquay on Saturday. Torquay went to 10 men 25 minutes in yet managed to take the lead 10 minutes later, leaving Notts coming from behind to rescue a point.

HT in the evening game and Notts lead by a single goal. Wrexham have been on top and missed the best chance. But they were slowing their play down by using a long throw all the time, which was being dealt with and actually started the chain of events to their own concession. Notts broke and then, in a secondary phase, crossed from deep for an excellent headed finish across the goal. A good advert for the NL so far.
Earlier, Torquay got whacked 4-0 at home and saw their second red card in 48 hours - fancy having to play with 10 men for 70 minutes twice in 48 hours!
The Daggers, Chesterfield and Boreham Wood are 100% after 3 games, the latter 2 having not conceded yet.

Wrexham 1 - 1 Notts, For all the play on the floor, both goals were headers from crosses. No-one deserved to lose, both sides tired in the last 20 as quality dropped and Notts had to stop several breaks with yellows. Refreshingly good performance from the man with the whistle as well.
Over to us then.

Saturday's televised (BT 5pm) game sees Yeovil - who we face after Boreham Wood - hosting Halifax, where Warby now plays.
Elsewhere, Chesterfield v Bromley could be a 'big clash' and looks like the home side's first real test, while Southend host Wrexham.
Aside from Boreham Wood and Chesterfield, The Daggers is the only other side with a 100% record at the start of play. They should be expected to continue that postive start as they are home to Wealdstone, who have just 1 point from their opening 3 games.
