Starting this thread, following confirmation of the players who are to be retained/released. No huge surprises, other than perhaps that Jamie Stott is staying after hardly featuring in recent months. And, of course, a special debt of gratitude is due to the departing Nyal Bell and Adam Thomas for their contributions too the cause in earlier years. Thanks, guys - and good luck.

I think more of the contracted players will leave over the summer if another club comes in for them. I would be surprised if the likes of Jamie Stott, Richie Bennett, Jordan Williams move on a free or nominal fee.
And as some wag on Facebook put it: why isn’t Simon Rusk on the releases list?

Agreed, Harrogate.
I would also add Maynard to your list.

Thank you to Adam and Nyal for their contributions to getting us back into the NL.
Having been signed to play the opposite side to Lloyd, Adam's 1st season was ended before it began with an ACL in game 1 of pre-season. Yet he still tried to play on into the actual league start with such a terrible injury. I think that tells everyone his dedication and will to play for us.
Back fit, under JG he made himself a reliable right-side choice, working tirelessly up and down for the team and filling in roles out of position whenever asked. Winning countless flick-ons, foot-ins, corners and throws in the opponents half was the norm when he played, and there were some important goals in there to boot. I doubt many teams would think they would get much on the side with Minihan and Thomas... and they'd be right to think that!
Never a flashy player or someone who would catch a casual onlooker's eye, his value was across a season - a player who could be trusted and a player who played for his team.
-----
I always wanted to see Nyal kick-on to that next step with us. Like any forward, watching them miss or lose the ball is frustrating. But unlike many a forward, there were times when he could destroy a side, running at pace and with purpose.
Nyal scored some valuable goals for us, and in a team where we were reliant on 2 young players to lead the line (him or Mulhern), the fact we got promotion is testament to them both playing their part for the side.
It didn't surprise me to see him retained for a year in a full-time set-up, nor that he could get goals at Halifax in the same league when used alongside a decently physical player in a front 2.
Both players were the focus of pretty constant negativity from some of the fanbase, with Bell being being booed by some when announced MotM and some moron even travelling to have a go at him in a pre-season game.
I hope they find a happy home for next season and get back out there playing.
Best wishes, guys.

Looking at our released list then, 4 out of the 5 'present success stories' on our academy page have therefore been released! www.stockportcounty.com/academy/success-storiesAs a secondary point of appearing professional, the amount of errors in the written material on the website (not Maccy or Sam's reports, obviously) continues to be truly shocking.

My brother (staunch Tranmere Rovers fan) tells me that, surprisingly, Danny Lloyd has been released by Tranmere. Where to next? Mmmmm... I wonder if Danny is on Mr Wilson's radar?

Can he still score goals !!! Nothing like as prolific as his first spell at EP. Played in midfield for Rovers and scored 3 goals in 20 appearances in 2020. Used mainly as an 'impact' substitute from the bench, I think.

Jordan Williams moves on to TNS. Perhaps he ought to drive in F1 ?

Williams arrived on a wave of good form and great promise, but it somehow didn't work out for him - with injury not helping his cause. Good luck to him at TNS.
