Williams arrived on a wave of good form and great promise, but it somehow didn't work out for him - with injury not helping his cause. Good luck to him at TNS. Agreed Maccy. I've criticised him myself in the past, but there's definitely a player in there, it just didn't happen for him with us for some reason Good luck to him. |

No surprises then thus far in those who have departed.
Williams not only had to contend with the general 'off' time with Covid disruption but then injury too, and he just never seemed up-to-speed to cement a place, even for all his effort.
Bennett is always going to divide opinion, but he assisted many early goals and supported Reid well. One of those, for me, who is probably more appreciated by teammates than the supporters who want their forwards to be scoring plenty. I thought we were poorer for not utilising him, especially as Cardwell faded, and the loan decision - he's on Hartlepool's 'going up!' photo - remains mindblowingly bad.
Whether we'll move on Maynard (and possibly Stott) remains to be seen. And of those we would surely want to keep, it would be bizarre if there hadn't been interest from clubs higher for MSH.

We all know that contracts aren't worth the paper they're crayoned on these days, so if there's interest from the FL and he fancies it, there's no way we can stop him. I honestly wouldn't blame him either. I've said it a few times this season that, if we didn't go up, it'll be interesting to see if anyone makes a bid for him. I really hope he stays, though, because we could really do with players like him to help us get off to a quick start next season. |

20-year-old Paddy Lane has just moved from Hyde to Fleetwood (goes into their academy). Apparently, we had triggered his release clause a while back. |

Similarly-aged, rumour is that 6'5 GK Ethan Ross (released by Lincoln and played on loan in the NL for Weymouth last season) is on his way too.
