Interesting podcast. Looks like we are awaiting the results of the EFL vote on 8th June, but it's looking likely there will be play offs...or the possibility of a null and void, so no promotions or relegations.. audioboom.com/posts/7595256-what-the-efl-is-happening.

Limited sympathy for Macc, I do feel for them because we know first hand how awful of a position that is to be in but I just can't forget how they lapped it up when we were struggling, singing songs about us going bust and turning up at our game against Torquay at their ground, just to take the piss.

Macclesfield have been on the edge financially for years. I wouldn’t wish a football club going defunct on any set of fans (apart from C*ty) but it seems to me they have got away with it on the pitch for far too long courtesy of some good management on the playing side.
Off the pitch, they’ve been a basket case for years and the way they have treated their staff (both playing and non-playing) by paying wages late/not at all is pretty much unforgivable. There should most definitely be points deduction sanctions for that kind of behaviour. Correct me if I’m wrong, but throughout our financial struggles and administration, I don’t remember us ever failing to pay our staff with the impudent regularity afforded by Macclesfield.
Ironically, I think the only reason the club seems to be avoiding administration/being wound up at the moment is that HMRC do not seem to be pursuing winding up orders for unpaid tax at this time in order to give struggling businesses the benefit of the doubt in the current climate (they also probably don’t have the staffing levels/manpower but that’s another story...).

Good post, gts.
Macc's Marketing Manager (Simon Dawson's equivalent) lives on my street, and he and his young family have been going through a really tough time because of this.
I reckon he would pretty much concur with everything you say about his own club's behaviour.

Barrow confirmed as National League Champions.
Looks like County have missed out on play-offs on points per game rule.

We shall win it next season - after first trips to King's Lynn and Wealdstone...

“(PT * LMS) / CM = Final Points Total Where “PT” means a Club’s points total in the 2019/20 Season at the point when the Competition was suspended on 16 March 2020.
Where “CM” means the number of Competition Matches a Club has played in the 2019/20 Season at the point the Competition was suspended on 16 March 2020.
Where “LMS” means the number of Competition Matches originally scheduled to be played by each Club in the 2019/20 Season, being (a) 46 for National League Clubs; and (b) 42 for National League North and National League South Clubs.
Worked Example:
Club A is in National League North and has played 32 Competition Matches and has a points total of 43 points. Applying the formula, Club A’s final points tally will be:
(43 * 42) / 32 = 56.438”
Thank god they provided a worked example and such a detailed explanation. Without that, I would have no idea how to apply a ‘points per game’ average. Thanks National League!

I've no idea if it would make a difference to us but I've always thought that, unless all teams have played the same number at home and away, they should apply the points per game equation separately for home and away matches/points. It would have changed the League 1 play-off places.

Are two clubs going to be relegated from League 2 then? This hasn’t been made clear I don’t think? So the play off winners may not go up?
