Had better get this started, with our second Lincolnshire schlep of January almost upon us...
Our hosts tomorrow may have a couple of ex-Hatters lining up against us, in the forms of Carl Pidge and - as I only discovered this morning - Lewis King.
Hopefully, though, we can improve somewhat on that emphatic, down-to-earth-with-a-bump reverse that was the current campaign's curtain-raiser?
Grateful thanks in advance to Sirius, who will be relaying Radio Macc updates on the night, as Gazza has to work a late shift!

It's absolutely throwing it down here in Leicestershire with the rain moving east - hopefully this won't mean another postponement (especially a late one) but I'll see you there if you are going

Boston: DLWWLW County: WWDWLW
Verdict: Clean sheet for King and a goal for Piergianni in a 2-0 defeat.

Sadly, I think we'll do well to get a point. I've got a bit of soft spot for Boston as they had some terrible times in recent years - administration, points deducted, automatically demoted as a result - a shocking rule, all their players left overnight, screwed by the council when they tried to move grounds, etc. I know it's been said elsewhere, but with the amount of money swilling around, it just shouldn't happen. Some individial players earn so much these days that they could personally adopt a club and keep it afloat! Instead of buying that second sports car, they could guarantee the survival of a club like Boston (and County) for a season - and that's just donating the insurance premiums! Giving back to the game that has given you so much should be a requirement of every player. Sorry, that started off as a comment on tonight’s match and led into a rant about the grotesque world of premier league football. It makes my blood boil!

You're absolutely right, epworth. I can say with absolute honesty that if I was a Premier League footballer on the money these players are on I wouldn't think twice about helping a club in trouble, and not just County.
You could take any top club dressing room and have a whip round for us for example, and it would cost each individual player relative peanuts to buy us a clean slate.
It's obscene what they earn, and regardless of ownership and shareholders, it's always the fans that suffer most, it's the fans they should think about when they see a club in trouble. As I've said many times, without fans the shareholders would have shares in a big fat diddly f***ing squat!

I've got a soft spot for Boston too - perhaps it's the Tea Party link?!

I kind of have a soft spot, but mine stems from Tom Bennett being there around Gazza's time there. Also, the latter brought new interest in my Paul Gascoigne website and kept it worth doing for a bit longer. I had a few emails from Boston fans and they were really complimentary and appreciative of the fact I was giving their club a page on the site.

They've had a rough time like us - so I shall be generous and have a soft spot for them after 945pm tonight - providing we don't get hammered!

Cheers for the update, mhh.
Good to hear - and something of a relief, given that I'm already the other side of Chesterfield myself!

Evening, listeners - from faraway Boston, where, amazingly, it isn't raining!
Tonight's starters: Ormson, Jacobs, Duxbury, Churchman, Fagbola, Lees, Moke, Platt, Jevons, Dennis, Howard. Subs: Dicko, O'Halloran, Washburn, Lofthouse,
King on the Boston bench, but Carl Pidge starts.
Sitting with me in the Radio Macc commentary box this evening: Market Harborough Hatter.
Updates to follow. Come on County!
Cheers, Macc

king is apparently only fit enough to make the bench after an injury. their 'keeper is 17! hope we can get him under some pressure. we've only got four subs, and we're almost certainly less solid with moke in and platt shuffled inside to cover for tunji moses.
