Tuesday, 15th November is being held for our League match at EP against Gainsborough, which needed moving from Bonfire Night afternoon as a result of County's continued involvement in the FA Cup.
But don't go overboard with any pre-match planning as yet. We shall have to use that date for a schlep 'darn sarf' if the Woking tie requires a replay!

Thanks Mac... don't think I'll be able to join those getting frostbite on the night with an essay due later that week. Wrap up warm, or just hold your neighbouring fan really tight. Go on, ARS, try it and see what happens!

Hmm - for me, it would be Jon Keighren, Sam Byrne or James.
I had better just wear a couple of extra layers...!

With the fixture now being just under 72 hours away, am turning this into the Match Thread ahead of Tuesday night.
You know what to do...

Having looked in the crystal ball, I'll go cautious and say 2-2, att. 2714. Amis will head a starting line-up which otherwise matches what we ended with at Nuneaton (Smalley and Ball rested).
Although at the bottom of the away table, they've been able to get goals on the road of late - scoring 1st in 4 of their last 5 (including against Darlo and Fylde), no less. They've an experienced centre back in Quinn so, if he plays, I hope we're sufficiently physical on their set-plays and try to exploit his lack of pace when we attack.
They seem to have given Chorley, who play 3 at the back, a decent game yesterday but conceded sloppily in the final quarter of the match. So, if County keeps with a back 3, the opposition will have just come up against a variant and been able to do ok and will probably look to exploit 2 on 1s in wide areas.
Of course, none of the above may happen but I feel much better for typing it. *Pops pill into mouth and drinks water*

Two talking points for me. 1. Lloyd is probably the only player who possesses the composure to have scored in that situation and 2. The referee was utterly abysmal, one of the worst I've seen, even with the bar set as low as the Conference North

Fantastic, Duds - thanks for sharing that. Huge respect to Danny for having the strength of character to get out there and win the game for us and indeed his Grandad. Phenomenal effort.

Two talking points for me. 1. Lloyd is probably the only player who possesses the composure to have scored in that situation and 2. The referee was utterly abysmal, one of the worst I've seen, even with the bar set as low as the Conference North the thing that impresses me about lloyd is that i properly believe in him. when he was put in, with a defender behind him and the 'keeper coming out, i was utterly confident he would score. it was the one bit of actual class in the whole game, like he slowed down time and had forever to get it right. would have been interested to have seen what some of the others would have done with that situation, although as i suspect that 'out for a goal kick' would have been the outcome, probably best not. partly because my brother was there as well as my cousin, we were just gassing and not concentrating, but it didn't seem very interesting. they put in quite a lot of bad tackles (although lloyd got away with a tasty one in front of us), and it's a slight surprise that none of our players was invalided out. the ref was ridiculous at times. he'd already faced derision in front of the cheadle end for an over the top pacing out of ten yards for a county free kick which seemed to end a couple of yards short...but on the next one, the county fans counted his paces with him, shouting out the number, and he stopped on nine! i appreciate a pace isn't a precise measurement, but once he'd started pacing it you'd think he'd avoid looking ludicrous by stopping short a second time. we were the better side, we made most of the running, most of the chances, but it just didn't hold the eye. we should have killed the game off long before their two virtually identical late volleys (one with maybe ten minutes remaining, one in injury time) both fortuitously popped identically into hinchliffe's gloves. i liked us wasting time down by the cheadle end/main stand corner flag, then wriggling free and creating a chance to finish the game off (which of course we didn't take), i liked a couple of excellent surging runs from lewis montrose, a few of the balls courtney MW spread around, danny lloyd's finish and his earlier burst and ball across the six yard box that a team with a proper forward line would have converted from. i didn't like the officiating, danny lloyd clearly starting to feel he's a one man team, with reducing effect over the performance, or the lack of a forward scoring a goal or even a midfielder arriving in the box to meet a pull back and power home. we needed the win to get our points tally moving. that's all it was though. nothing else at all. the crowd tried at times, and fair play - we can't all reach keighren levels of enthusiasm, and i certainly couldn't tonight.
