Great to get the points and keep our season interesting for a bit longer, but a 1-0 win at home against a team lower than us in the table thanks to a Danny Lloyd goal following a quick goal kick... is a major temptation for me to bang on about needing a goalscoring centre forward again. Which I won't be doing (although I sort of have).
I suppose a broken hand won't keep Amis out of the side for long (not much danger of a high five, ho ho).

"the ref was ridiculous at times". I think that the most ridiculous point was reached when Lloyd was flagged offside from a return pass from a short corner. The liner was clearly pointing to a spot just in front of the corner flag as the place where the infringement too place and the ref completely ignored him and allowed the kick to be taken from the edge of the 6 yard area

Don't indirect free kicks have to be taken at least 6 yards from the goal line?

I know they do in the penalty area, not sure about outside so you're probably right but in that case the kick should have been taken a yard in from the touch line, or maybe not. I should probably look it up

Yeh I'm not sure, could be more of a line-o mistake than a ref mistake.

Sounds like 'one of those' refs by everyone's accounts. Delaying kickoff because he couldn't find the bell to signal players for kickoff, Jarman saying he's been put down for a booking he didn't receive on the night and that the ref "Couldn't wait to tell me he was a football league ref filling in too." 3 points though, another Hinchliffe assist and hopefully no new injuries!

If he played yesterday he might well have punched the ref and broke his hand.... ; ; ; ;

The wall has to be 10 yards (9.15m) away from the ball so it all depends on the length of the referee's stride.

Which was miniscule. I think he had trotters rather than feet.

The wall has to be 10 yards (9.15m) away from the ball so it all depends on the length of the referee's stride. absolutely. but they started out confident strides, then ended up like me walking across sheet ice in slippers, before halting at 9. it was weak and stupid - once he'd started counting them out rather than just shooing the wall back or jogging forward and moving them, it looked ridiculous to have ever daintier steps then stop early. he was poor all round though.

wow. what a one-eyed piece. to be fair to maccy, for all his many flaws, he: - is very even-handed
- knows contextually when it's 'bearing' and when it's 'baring'.
"we matched them and looked likely to get an equaliser". wow again. that really is a quote recognising the fact that there are only 30 gainsborians who bore witness to the game. he's probably had them systematically eliminated in the days since just to ensure that the truth never gets out.
passed through the truthometer, it reads "we had nothing. NOTHING. but they failed to kill us off and we could have gained an extremely unlikely point with one of two late punts from distance"

he could have moonwalked it and we'd have had a better approximation...

This is how a 10 yard distance should be paced out
