Statement. The Board of Stockport County Supporters’ Co-operative are shocked and saddened at the news that Jim Gannon has been dismissed as County’s manager. Jim has been a magnificent servant of the club, both as a player and a manager, and is regarded as a legend by the vast majority of supporters. Jim has served three spells as manager – the first two also ended in dismissals, now widely seen as grave mistakes by the then directors. Each season in which he has managed our club there has been a year on year improvement in the quality of the team. He has guided the Hatters to two promotions. His last complete season with us saw us crowned as champions, this season he has guided us to 4th place in the league (with games in hand) and with most of the season yet to play. He is, to many of us, a part of the spirit of our club. Jim Gannon will be a hard act to follow. We wish him all the best for his future. We will always be grateful to him for his fantastic service to the Club. Make sure your voice is heard – join the co-op now www.countysupporterscoop.co.uk/Stockport County Supporters Cooperative

Stockport Voices- Add Yours to the Mix !
We made reference previously to contact that had been made to the Supporters Cooperative by Stockport`s Garrick Theatre, about possible collaboration twixt the two organisations, and we are pleased to give this update. It is a couple of years since the Garrick did a performance piece called ``Stockport Voices`-a series of monologues about life in Stockport, based on interviews with people who live/work in the town. The Cooperative were happy to get involved , and in this regard Supporters Cooperative member Phil Robinson did much good work to put together some County content for what was a very interesting and worthwhile project. Well, the Garrick and ourselves think that the time is ripe to re-visit this excellent idea, and this time focussing `Stockport Voices` exclusively on County within the theatre groups `Festival of Theatre`. There is a rich vein of history to go at- a life time of material, but it's not just the team but reminiscing about the characters, the incidents, the places, you remember- the where….when….that will make it live ! Tell us about your County memories, but first send in your contact details ( phone/ email) to Supporters Cooperative Chair- Pete Towey ( PM Fundi on Marionsboard).
The Garrick will ultimately , use the stories from the Coop members plus other County fans, and collate these into a script , either using the County story tellers ( if they are up for it) or actors for a Zoom performance initially , and then….who knows!
We think this is a great idea , and we hope you agree and join us in putting it together!

Were there no other comments from the club other than 'let's see' worth inclusion here, H? I get that it was the co-op introducing themselves to the club, but what about feedback, what did they think and what were their thoughts on the relationship going forward and how they can work together?

I think you will find there are comments from the Club within the text of the report Gazz. Probably not as detailed or along the lines fans might be looking for in every instance but where a response was forthcoming, it is reported. That said, as you appreciate , we have been seeking a meeting for months now and we needed to seek to clarify with the Club what we are and what we are about, and I think that was done, and going forward regular meetings should now be forthcoming, with the usual level of feed back from us. The club seems to want to deal with the Cooperative and we are in discussions about basics like , `where do we hang out on match days now the cabin is history? We remain an independent supporters organisation, and we will do everything we can to ensure the fans voices are heard above the hubbub of excitement on the road back to the EFL, the diffinitive views and position of the Club on upcoming issues will become more apparent as a firm system of meetings and reporting thereof is established.

Apologies, mate, I was viewing on my mobile and, having now viewed it on my PC, it seems that for some reason I was only able to view a fraction of the document on my phone. I've now read the whole document, thanks.

Report SCSC Board Meeting- 15 March 2021. The board of the Stockport County Supporters Cooperative met again this week, continuing their Covid induced habit of staging meetings via Zoom. Pete Towey, chairing the meeting, opened with a report of the recent meeting with the Club, expressing satisfaction about the way the meeting went. It was agreed that a further meeting be sought as soon as practicable. Meanwhile, with the Cheadle End Cabin now history, we had received suggestions from the Club as to where we might set up on match days- enabling effective communication between our members, County fans generally, and ourselves, one of which should prove to be a workable option. It was reported that the final `deferred consideration` following the sale of the Cooperative`s shares in Stockport County had been received, and it was reaffirmed that, as with the original distribution, the moneys received will be shared equally with Help the Hatters. Discussion then took place on our intention to undergo a `Consultative Exercise` similar to one we took on some years ago. This is likely to be accompanied by a mission statement maybe incorporating elements of our recent `Presentation Document` which has generally received a good response. It will contain for certain a host of pertinent questions aimed at ascertaining the views of supporters and members on the Cooperative….its values….the way it should be heading and lots more. It was agreed we proceed with the project. On the Hatters Half Marathon it was confirmed that we are seeking clarity as to the position regarding essential permissions needed before we can safely and successfully run this race. We agreed to continue to seek answers and obtain the permissions. Finally it was noted that Stockport NHS Foundation had given us an excellent `Supporters Shout Out` via social media following our effort raising £2700 for them last year. To check upon your status if you are a Supporters Cooperative member, or to join us if not already signed up, you can do this here:- webcollect.org.uk/coop/subscriptionThank you for your continued support ! Appeal for help with web development
The Stockport County Supporters Co-operative are working on a new project which we believe will be close to the hearts of County fans. We currently need help with the development of a small website, which will aid us with this project.
This exciting project may be suitable for a County fan who is currently a web designer or who wishes to use this as an exercise to build up their portfolio of work.
If any County supporter is interested and willing to volunteer to help , please can you contact John Giles at johngiles20@hotmail.com?

Supporters Cooperative Newsletter. The frequency of Newsletters during the Covid pandemic has been somewhat limited, but that does not mean that nothing is being done, indeed we are about to embark on a period of quite considerable activity off the park as County look to make that much desired step back into the Football League on it. Just a few items to start us off then:- . Supporters Cooperative Meeting with Club. We reported extensively a day or so ago that we had been seeking a meeting with representatives of the Club, and happily we can now confirm that this will take place on Thursday 20 May. The Cooperative will seek to use this meeting as the starting point for Supporter/Club liaison, and as such hope to make this the first of many regular sessions between Club and ourselves. We will of course report following the meeting as soon as practicable, meanwhile any questions should be sent to info@countysupporterscoop.co.uk before noon on Sunday 16 May. It`s the Green Light for Hatters Half Marathon ! You know when you open the window, see the daffodils out and almost taste the smells of early Spring that things will soon be getting better. A smidgeon of that `early Spring elation` hit the Stockport County Supporters Cooperative this week and it was nothing to do with daffodils, or anything similar, it was just that Race Director John Giles had received confirmation from the local Pandemic Response Team that the Stockport Hatters Half Marathon could go ahead on Sunday 5 September this year. This is a massive boost after doubts had been voiced in some quarters as to the safety and viability of running this race again so soon. But we did the sums…the research, checked with our event partners and relevant experts and decided our application would go in, and the Council`s response is handsome reward for the Supporters Cooperative`s courage and initiative! The race is a great advert for the town and Stockport County who have again agreed to allow us to use Edgeley Park as a base for the race which will once more start outside the stadium and finish in the beautiful setting of Alexandra Park. The news will be a massive boost to runners also who have consistently made this event the North West`s premier road and trail race. There`s more too, as C &C Healthcare were confirmed as our Senior Business Partner for the race. cc-healthcare.co.uk/home/Great news….and there`s even more, as with design help from Jack McNally, and artwork by local artist, Eamonn Murphy we are offering runners perhaps the best medal yet- it looks simply fantastic! Whether you fancy helping on the day marshalling, or just plan to enjoy the spectacle, please make a note of race day 5th September in your diary, and await further details soon. The Cabin is no More…..But…….. We can now confirm that following consultations with the Club, they have agreed to allow the Supporters Cooperative to pitch up pre-game on match days near the entrance to the Cheadle End Car Park on Hardcastle Road. Thus there will be at least 2 Cooperative Board members on duty probably twixt 1.30 and 2 .30 each match day to answer any queries or offer help, starting on the first home game of next season. Consultation Process/ Supporters Survey. Many thanks for your support of this effort. We look forward to publishing the results of same in the near future. ………………………………………
