Answers from Club Board. On Thursday 3 November the Supporters Cooperative Board met with the Club Board to put a series of questions ,mostly raised by our members and supporters, to the Club Board. There were a large number of questions ( 17 in total) ,thus it has taken longer than usual to put together a report of the Club's responses. We apologise for this delay and would ask you to follow the following link to access details of the questions and answers..... app.box.com/s/pb4ds8eqxyrt06aj1lhva91m8knwkfg4 Thank you for your continued support. What I cant understand is why some fans think they have a god given right to see the total financial picture at a club. It's sensitive info and will always remain sensitive.

Supporters Cooperative Look to Acquire Part Ownership of Edgeley Park. In January 2015, the Stockport County Supporter’s Co-operative launched the Guardian Account, with a view to acquiring an asset on behalf of the football club – which would be owned by our supporters. The objective of the Guardian Account was initially kept flexible, for a couple of reasons. Firstly, because the Co-op wanted to build up a notable sum to demonstrate credibility and provide a statement of intent, in any discussions with any relevant parties and secondly, because the situation at the football club is subject to change over time. During this period, the Co-operative board have looked to create structures to generate regular income for the Guardian Account – primarily from events and activities. In September, the 2nd Hatters Half Marathon took place, 561 runners participated, nearly £6,000 profit was achieved and the event received fantastic feedback from the running community. The cabin in the Cheadle End car park sells football shirts and memorabilia donated by our fans, this is on target to raise £1,600 for the season. Other events include quiz nights, junior / senior tournaments at Power League, the Christmas Cavort, promotions at the Stockport Beer Festival and brewery links with Cryptic Ales and the Spinning Top pub. Initially launched with a transfer from Co-op funds of £10,000 at our AGM, the balance of the Guardian Account now exceeds £30,000 and is well positioned to increase significantly, due to the structures that the Co-op board have put in place. At the October Co-op board meeting, a clear purpose and objective for the Account was discussed and the board agreed in principal that our ‘preferred option’ is for the funds to be used to purchase a stake in Edgeley Park. This is to safeguard Edgeley Park for future generations and also provide an asset which can be owned by the fans, via the Co-operative. The Co-op would like to seek approval from our members at the forthcoming AGM on 17th November. If support from our members is secured, the Co-op would look to open negotiations with Stockport County Football Club – and then Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council. The Guardian Account will remain flexible, should circumstances change, but the Co-op board feel that it is very important to have a clear objective for the Guardian Account going forward – and will enable us to appeal directly to our supporters for support with fund raising. A fantastic idea, hopefully this will help secure our future at OUR home.
I've already read this myself in the co-op email this morning, but thanks for posting.

Supporters Cooperative Update.
Support the Players Fund at the Bungalow -
Tuesday15th sees County take on Gainsboro Trinity at Edgeley Park .
Before the Match....... Help the Hatters will be in the Bungalow pre-match and supporters will be able to support the Players Fund by buying a pint which will attract a 50p donation to the Fund. Pods continue to be sited around Edgeley Park for supporters to make contributions if they are able.
Support the Guardian Account at the Spinning Top.
After the game ( until closing time)the landlord of the Spinning Top ( near the Garrick Theatre on the A6) will again be making a generous 10% donation from takings to the Guardian Account. So why not get along to the ST and sample some decent real ale in comfortable surroundings! Almost £500 has been raised for the Guardian Account via the Spinning Top- a great effort !
Cheadle End Cabin-
We can confirm that , whilst we will be in the Cabin on Saturday before the game with BPA ( from 1.30 until 2.30), for Tuesday's game, due to the absence of lighting the Cabin will not be open.
In addition we are pleased to confirm that the Cabin has raised over £1000 this season in support of the Guardian Account.
County Museum
You will perhaps be aware that the Club are looking to institute a County Museum at Edgeley Park.
In this respect , Help the Hatters, the Supporters Cooperative, SCAN and the Stockport County Community Foundation are well set to join with the Club to make this excellent project a success.
For our part the Supporters Cooperative are examining the possibilities of obtaining suitable funding ahead of any launch announcement by the Club
And finally......
Pure FM Co- Commentator - Tamworth v County
For years now Stockport's very own Pure FM have , through the excellent commentaries of Jon Keighren, been providing a vital link between County fans who cannot get to games , and their beloved County.
Season 2016/17 has been no different as, thanks to the support of John Whelan's Cheshire based Sapphire Accounting, every game, home or away, has been covered!
Happily the Supporters Cooperative has been offered a number of co-commentary positions throughout the season, which has been a great boon to our members who have participated with relish.
That said.....we have one co -commentary spot still vacant and it is at next Tuesday's away game at Tamworth( 22 November ), so....if you are interested please contact Billy Byrne on billybyrne17@gmail.com, but do it as soon as possible please.

Unfortunately, despite very loud noises made by some, it was an uncontested election, I along with the rest of the board were genuinely disappointed by that as we were ready to have proper debate about how we see the future of the Co-op, I would have thought that after deciding, for whatever reason, not to stand for election, that those people would now want to try to work together with the Co-op and all County fans, disappointingly looking at Twitter the excuses and sniping have already begun , if it wasn't so pathetic it'd be funny.

Suedehead forgot.
Imposter was afraid to go up against someone who forgot.
Dave March Org was chased away by someone who was afraid to go up against someone who forgot.

If they are not prepared to stand up and be elected then they should not be carping on and complaining. Personally I think the Co-op has done a great job so far and I was very pleased that all were re-elected. Carry on the good work!

Thank you, there's loads more to be done, hopefully we'll find a way where everyone is working together for the same aim, the sad thing is that they have some good points to raise however the way they go about things immediately gets the back up of most County fans so any good points and/or ideas are lost in the "cross fire "!

Agreed, Billy. I personally cannot fathom how, after all we've been through and considering just how close we came to folding completely, there are still people outside the tent spitting in. They say "love conquers all". So why, when a galvanised and mobilised fan base can really make a difference, can't our common love for County do the same? I will never understand that. Anyway, back to last night. It wasn't broke, it didn't need fixing and it wasn't - onwards and upwards.

2016 AGM Stockport County Supporters Cooperative
This was held in the Bungalow adjacent to Edgeley Park ,on Thursday 17 November 2016.
Further details to follow as soon as possible, but we feel we should advise members and others that the following were elected , unopposed, to represent supporters on the Supporters Cooperative Board....
Pete Towey Dave Marchbank Billy Byrne Paul Charnock Nick Lee
We congratulate all the above !
On to the week end, and we are sure that you will be preparing to get behind the County team as they face Bradford Park Avenue for the first time in two at Edgeley Park tomorrow( Saturday 19 November).
Before the game you can again catch board members in the Cheadle End Cabin where you can seek information, renew your membership or support the Guardian Account by either buying or donating a shirt or other item of County memorabilia . As usual the cabin will be open between 1.30 and 2.30. Help the Hatters will be in the Bungalow pre-match where you can support the Players Fund by buying a pint, and after the game, a visit to the Spinning Top ( near the Garrick Theatre on the A6) would be a neat idea as the landlord Mike is again donating 10% of takings between 5 and 8pm to the Guardian Account. And...having quenched your thirst with some real ale at the ST ( County Co-Hop perhaps) you could head off for the Sapphire Site at EP where at 7.30 , 80's tribute band Bed Shop Boys will be gigging. Tickets are just £5 from Simon.dawson@stockportcounty.com or the Club Shop.
Enjoy Saturday !
