Time at last - weather permitting - to welcome Jim back at EP for a League game.
Hopefully, the occasion will be marked by our first home win since British Summer Time... just before the next round of BST is upon us!
Post all the usual stuff here...

and if we don't beat the trinity on saturday, it will be at least october to march between home wins, which is pretty mental considering it's nothing less than promotion...

Wouldnt it be something else if all the Gannon fans returned to welcome back Jim this Saturday - imagine a 4K + crowd...

Hopefully a bumper crowd to witness a 2-0 County win...I went to game in Gainsborough back in October and we looked pretty good and defended superbly in a 1-0 win and with Gannon who seems to have really tightened up the defence and brought in better strikers than we had before, I don't see why we can't have another 3 points off them!

Sadly however, I feel that the Gannon Hype may have died down a bit and we may not get as big a crowd as we would've done if his first game back was at home or if we'd won his first few games back but I still think it'll be higher than average!

My match preview for Quays News (to be followed by an 'on-the-whistle' report on the day):
*****************************************************************************************************
STOCKPORT County will play host for the first Saturday in six weeks when Gainsborough Trinity visit Edgeley Park (KO 15:00 GMT).
The match will also be the County Faithful’s first opportunity to welcome Jim Gannon back at EP for a League fixture following his return to manage the club in the second half of January.
And how appropriate it is, too, that Gannon’s ‘Third Coming’ in SK3 should see the Hatters receive the ‘Holy Blues’ of Gainsborough - hot on the heels of County’s victory over Brackley Town’s ‘Saints’!
That 1-0 win in Northamptonshire seven days ago brought a welcome end to a long wait by the Hatters for their first three-point haul of 2016 - although the club’s form has stabilised of late, with just one defeat in five matches.
Trinity, meanwhile, went from one extreme to another last Saturday, when a sequence of three wins out of four was rather emphatically spoiled - with leaders Solihull Moors hitting the Holy Blues for six in their own Northolme back yard.
County’s guests this weekend will clearly be keen to atone for that reverse. And, thanks to their erstwhile good run, they still sit three places above the Hatters who are currently thirteenth.
Results between the two sides have been relatively even in modern times - with County winning on three occasions, and Trinity twice. Don’t bank on a draw, though: they have not managed one together since 1911/12, as Football League opponents in the then-equivalent of the Championship!
The Hatters have an opportunity to achieve their first ‘double’ of the campaign, after securing a single-goal victory at Northolme in October thanks to a Micah Evans header.
But Trinity will be no shrinking violets at EP - having deservedly won 3-1 when the clubs last met there towards the end of last season. And the Gainsborough squad has been boosted this week by the addition of Elliot Hodge (son of former England international, Steve), a winger who arrives on loan from Lincoln City.
The visitors also have a former Hatter within their ranks in striker Nick Bignall, who made 13 appearances, scoring three times, for County in all competitions during the 2009/10 season that led to relegation from League One. Following a bright start to the current campaign, however, his appearances for Trinity have been somewhat restricted by injury.
They could resort to a couple of other secret weapons, should they choose, mind. Their fluorescent lime green away-kit threatens to burn the eyes at ten paces. And - if he makes the trip - the landlocked club’s Fergal the Shark is quite possibly the scariest-looking mascot in non-league football!
Live updates of the match will be available from our correspondent through County’s official Twitter-feed, @scfcmedia.

After their 6-1 thrashing by Solihull, we need to be quick out of the blocks and score and knock their confidence down. Its time County stopped making things hard for themselves

For those of you not getting along to EP, and in need of a pre-match read, this afternoon, here - in its new thread-home for the first time - is our article in today's programme... Enjoy! ***************************************************************************************************** Sandbach Hatter writes:Good afternoon everyone, and welcome back to Edgeley Park! Regular readers of this article, and frequenters of our forum, will be aware that we ‘Heaveners’ like to do our bit for those less fortunate. And our charity of choice for the past few years has been Kidscan, a children’s cancer charity based in Salford. In 2013, a group of us walked from EP to the Moss Rose in Macclesfield, and raised over £1,500 in the process. The following year, we released our first ever Yearbook, and added another hundred or so pounds to that total. Then, last year, we were walking again - this time to Hyde and back in torrential rain - accumulating another £1,400 for Kidscan. That’s over £3,000 in less than three years, something we’re very proud of, but now Maccy and I are taking on our biggest challenge yet! In June, once the season is over, we plan to drive to every Conference North ground in one weekend - leaving EP on the Saturday morning, and arriving back at some point the following evening. That’s a little over 1,200 miles in two days! Further details will follow in due course, but we’re announcing this now as we’d like to raise a huge amount for a fantastic cause. And we’re going to need your help to do it, so stay tuned! Maccy, one important thing I forgot to ask - what car sweets do you like? Hatter in Macc writes:Well, I am partial to the odd Fisherman’s Friend... but best not tell the odd Fisherman, eh?! It does seem ages since our last notes saw the full light of day - which is probably because it is... and some six weeks, to be precise! On that occasion, the Hatters hosted Nuneaton under Mike Flynn’s interim charge - and a fair amount has occurred since then, including the postponement of the Hednesford fixture here which would have marked the return of Jim Gannon in managerial action at EP. (The column penned by us for the latter is, however, likely to reappear in some shape or form when we try again against the Pitmen on Tuesday.) As it is, the County faithful have had to wait until today before finally seeing Jim Gannon back in the home dugout for a League match Mind you, what better way to celebrate the ‘Third Coming’ than with a contest against Gainsborough’s ‘Holy Blues’? And fresh from seeing off the ‘Saints’ at Brackley last weekend?! It was also a pleasure to enjoy the Cheshire Senior Cup victory here over Crewe, so - with away-results (also including a deserved stalemate on a ploughed field of a pitch at Bradford a fortnight ago) now stabilising nicely, get behind Jim and the team this afternoon. Let us rediscover that winning feeling in SK3 last enjoyed in the League during British Summer Time... and, naturally, before the next round of BST is upon us! Enjoy the game.
