Looks like I may be the first with anything to say, and bearing in mind I've just opened a second bottle of red and don't feel like pulling punches but, that was utter garbage from beginning to end. No passion, no method, no plan A let alone plan B, no skill, no nothing. Aimless bang it down the field and hope for the best. Beaten by a moderate side thanks to some of the most inept defending I've ever seen and I've been coming long enough to have witnessed some rubbish! Sorry Mr Young, this is exclusively your team, playing your "style" to your tactics and really, if that's the best you've got it's time to consider your position because I for one have better things to do with 15 quid

Agree... total garbage again, only slightly better than Boston. The only positive was Brewster's goal. Margets didnt look bothered. The CE was quiet and we understand why. The Harrogate crowd made more noise than us lot for most of the match. If only we could blame it on too much... but that doesnt explain all the other inept performances. We need the players running up hills literally at Vegas...because this rot really has to stop. Agree..these are all Young 'Ones'....and so far it appears we aregoing nowhere. Clear out the dross and get players who want to play for the club and aren't in the twilight of their careers. How many fans are we losing because they are getting fed up with what's being served up on the menu? ...

Any one else get the feeling we are going to end this season the same way we finished last season: mid table with Alan Lord in the dug out...

As everyone knows we are seriously missing a permanent strike force who can deliver... and with other teams having 4 games in hand , unless we put a run of wins together its possible we'll do worse than last year.. (sorry sound like a doom and gloom merchant)....

I can't help thinking that a Manager with something of a reputation for hiring and firing is going to struggle to find players who want to play for the club, why would you if you if you could be out on your ear at any moment. It's a method that I would suggest can only work for a limited time and perhaps he's just been found out. Unfortunate for us that it's happened whilst at County

No passion, no method, no plan A let alone plan B, no skill, no nothing. i heard somebody on hardcastle road after the game say "there's no plan b", and i couldn't quite be arsed at that moment to say "there's no plan a". ...but that's definitely it. dunno ceefer about players in the twilight of their careers, i think it's worse than that. i thought o'hanlon looked bothered today, but too few players did, right across the age groups. i know there's a tendency if a young lad's come in and scored to give him MoM, but i thought brewster was the only one who deserved it today. maybe it's because his confidence hasn't been crushed yet, but he was buzzing about all game, chasing lost causes, showing he has pace to burn; and he took his goal very well and in a way i haven't seen for a while when a county player has been one on one with a 'keeper. he used his pace to get away, then knew he had the time to relax and finish. real confidence there. most of the other players should be ashamed. was in the gents when i heard the mildest of commotions. realised eventually that they had scored, so i haven't had the privilege of seeing that yet. brewster got us back on terms with his calm finish, but we didn't do a lot for the rest of the half. strange penalty incident when both players, heading out of the area, attempted to go into superman style flight, and after margets tucked his two pens away confidently at corby, this time there wasn't much on it and their 'keeper got down to it. they had also hit the underside of our bar, but what a great chance for us to go in ahead. what could have been a confidence boost seemed to have demoralised them, because county did nowhere near enough second half. we had a throw down in the main stand/cheadle end corner, lewis montrose lost possession, and they played it across towards the pop side, where their player seemed to run for ages at the county defence, got funnelled off to a tight angle, but still managed to finish. really not sure where the f*** a tackle of some sort was, but there seems to be a lot of trouble coming down our left hand side at the moment. have lost a bit of faith in gareth roberts recently. we were also playing a midfield three, but considering you'd think montrose, rule and joyce would be pretty solid, they never got any sort of grip on things. we regularly bypassed them, and they didn't impose themselves when harrogate were in possession. my brother mentioned joyce, and i said he wasn't playing - that rule and montrose were in the middle. took me until right near the end of the first half to spot that he was, indeed, on the field. ledsham had a nothing game, margets looked half-arsed, and i will, as usual, save my biggest thanks for micah evans, who only got fifteen minutes, but didn't seem to want to put it in even for that. he wafted his foot a couple of times as though he wanted to look like he was trying to win the ball, but he really wasn't. there are a few i would be binning off if there's a way of doing it that won't cost us, and i'd have him out of the door as soon as possible. again, i'd compare it to the young everton lad - playing against some gnarled semi-pros in shite weather, and showing the tenacity to keep chasing, and knowing that he has an attribute in his pace, that he can use to good effect. good on him, and shame on most of the others. quite apart from a sinkhole having opened up on the westbound M62 that i would have to pass to get to staly, county can f*** off for monday. of course it's not one i'd normally swerve, but they really can f*** right off after today. even if i avoided falling into the bowels of the earth on the way there, i'm not sure i could take another poor performance at bower fold pre-empting mary's gloating tweets. i'd rather them only ruin another bank holiday via the medium of pure fm. i don't agree with rapid manager turnover. we've seen in close-up that it gets clubs nowhere. but neil young can only be a couple more successive poor results from featuring as a winner in our sack race thread, because it's been going on for -what- ten weeks? as fans, again, we've been sold a lie. not sure there's any benefit to getting rid, and i have no-one in mind i'd want in...but it can't just go on being shite under him. if he's got any residual magic built up from chester, now would be a good time to use it, before the opportunities run out.

Obviously I can't see the way we play but there's only so much that can be the board's fault.
They brought Neil Young in and provided a competitive budget. Would Young agree or disagree with that statement?
These are 100% Young's players playing his tactics following a pre-match and half-time team talk.
Managers are only as good as their team's results. After four games he was brilliant. Now he's struggling to achieve mediocre.
Two massive games coming up for him to show what he's made of. If he can't motivate his own players to perform against a local, inferior rival and then avenge a home defeat from only days before it's time to have a long, hard look in the mirror and decide if he is made of the right material to make County fans proud again.

Excellent post, Downy.
At this stage in the season we really shouldn't be thinking about the manager's future, but NY is forcing us to do that.
It's a difficult situation, but we really can't afford to be relegated from this division, and with every game he loses he's taking us closer to that.
Crucial 2/3 weeks in the futures of both club and manager. One wrong move really could speed up our decline.
Over to you, board.
