Managers are only as good as their team's results. After four games he was brilliant. Now he's struggling to achieve mediocre.
And therein lies the point. Yesterday we were beaten by a team which did not have to perform above the merely average to take all 3 points, or should I say yet another team which didn't have to perform above the merely average. The Manager had to have known the budget when he started, a budget we're told is competitive for this level. He chose to spread it as thinly as he did by replacing the entire 1st team squad, a decision which seemed questionable at the time but seems utterly foolish now as the majority of those he brought to the club are clearly no better than those they replaced. For the first time in 40 years watching this club home and away I'm seriously in two minds about whether to go back home or the 10 miles to Staly because I can't be arsed spending the time, effort and money to watch that aimless lot roll over again

One question appears to have been missed.
NY said he couldn't believe we had players on 52 week contracts, and I agree with him on that. So by that very same rule of thumb I ask this:
Why did we give him one for 104, and if the board offered it to him, why did be accept it?
b*ll*cks to stability, this guy could sit on his hands and wait to be sacked, by which time we could well be as good as down.
That 2 year contract is yet another monumental f**k up by the club.

agree, downy. given that we all knew we weren't going to spend our way out of the division, but that we would be having a 'competitive' budget, it's down to NY and his backroom team -including mike flynn- at the moment. as many football fans say, i can take some individuals not being good enough. yesterday too many didn't look bothered enough, and that i'm just not having.
famous last words: i honestly don't think we're in any significant danger of relegation. however, a bottom half finish in our third season at this level is unacceptable, and therefore NY's tenure really has to be on the clock now.
NYE - i'm still feeling mardy enough after yesterday that i'm not going tomorrow. i don't often have a 'if they can't be bothered, neither can i' attitude, but as a regular match going fan, sometimes personal tolerance is exceeded. on the very odd occasion, it doesn't matter if it's a close game in terms of distance, there's just a need to flick the v's at the whole f***ing carry on.

I just hope the players collectively are up for the return match at Harrogate. I fear the only consolation may be the food there...

Summed up very nicely and I couldn't agree more but even divorce is easier than walking away from your football team!
