I thought I should mention something that I think so far has received no publicity on the subject of FCUM.
I refer to the fact that supporters of FCUM have agreed to supply marshalls for the Hatters Half Marathon on 6 September.
This is excellent news simply because we are very much needing all the help we can get on the day ( email dave.marchbank@gmail.com to volunteer).
Add to this the fact that there is absolutely nothing for FCUM to gain from this great gesture....it is what it is...simply a fantastic gesture of help and support from one fans group to another!

That is indeed an excellent gesture, H, hats off to those that have offered to help.

Thanks for sharing this good-news story, Hedgie. Its arrival coincided with an interview that I was giving to FCUM for next Tuesday's programme, so I made sure of mentioning the gesture and expressing further thanks for it.

What a superb gesture - local clubs should be encouraged to help each other like this. Friendly rivalry included.

was expecting it to be a negatively slanted thread. both historically, and in advance of our flat-terraced visit to their new wonder stadium, i haven't been that keen. however, i can credit a fantastic voluntary gesture here. if they keep it going, i might start to feel merely ambivalent about them!

Until the race gets a new organiser and then they breakaway and form a new race with the banner - 'Against Modern Half Marathons'!
Of course I kid! A great gesture from them and one I hope we reciprocate in future if they ever have any events!

Apparently there were people going straight to the front of the queue to get people the knew to get them tickets too. If that's true then whoever did that, and whoever bought them their tickets are ignorant sh*thouses. Shameful

crikey.
i have been irritated by the whole thing. their much lauded super-stadium with its tiny away capacity and flat standing just not doing the business for a club like county. i do also definitely have a bit of a kn*bbish 'where you were you at oxford city away on a tuesday night last october?' thing going on, where it annoys me a bit that the odd game has everybody coming out of the woodwork -and therefore tickets much more difficult to obtain- when most of the season the majority would never dream of following county away midweek.
the combination of the two things meant that i decided i wasn't going to even try and get tickets, because i knew i'd be phenomenally annoyed if i couldn't. i quite like adding to the list of grounds i've visited, and would normally expect to go to an away game within a couple of hours from home on a tuesday night, but i decided for this one, i'd spare myself the anger of failing. so my brother asked me to get him a ticket instead. 'thursday, friday and saturday' i discussed with my cousin at last week's friendly. i toddled off before the final whistle round to the ticket office, which was of course closed. i then checked my phone and realised it was the wrong saturday. i committed to trying to get him a ticket at the boston game if there were any left, but now there aren't. there will be no representatives of my clan in moston on tuesday. we were intending to act as cultural ambassadors as well.
good luck to any CH members who have obtained them though. i might seethe a little listening on pure next tuesday, but CH members are hardly the non-committal county unwashed, so you at least i won't resent...

Only fair way is 1 ticket only per ST holder or regular HTH helper. That may have stopped q jumping...

There was a few getting tickets for their mates/family who couldn't make it.
Jumping the queue were some youngsters I'm afraid as they arrived after 6 but not many were I was.
A steward was called off his holiday to supervise the line near the front at 6.50pm. Apparently they were surprised of the interest, hence no others and his call back.
I am gutted for those who missed out. It should have been those who had personally turned up or limit the number sold per person.
As for the big interest? I was asked that by a friend and I don't know. Will 500 turn up for any others? I agree. Will they make the effort?

By the way, we're going to rate the ladies toilets. The amenities at this level are a disgrace!
