hello again. what have I started lol yes the trs -80 was supposed to be a non bbc version of the bbc if I recall - yeah. as for the jaguar yes but if I remember it didn't last long and died very quickly. Amstrad bought out clive Sinclair and in 1987 the Amstrad copyright default was added to the spectrum default screen.
if you want a proper demo of the bbc-b in action and how it revolusionised television then watch the youtube clip I am posting........bonus point for naming all contestants and any bits you remember from the tv show in question. REMEMBER - THIS WAS CUTTING EDGE TV IN 1980 !
PLEASE NOTE this clip is from the very first episode ! other parts are there to be viewed and also other episodes ! nostalga ! the bit in question is at the end of the show - the vortex !
also note...those crossing the vortex could not see it ! it could only be seen by the viewers. the adventure game stopped around1987/88.

I remember that, stu, used to watch that after school! Takes me back that, cheers for posting! The Sinclair QL (Quantum Leap) was the last pre-Amstrad computer if my memory serves me correctly.

more archive classic games brilliant ! keep adding any you find ! why pay 45 quid for a game that 2 years later isn't worth a quid? last year i picked up football manager 2012 for..........( dramatic pause)........50p. the format was pc. just shows how quickly the price of new games is firstly hyped up then falls away quickly.

My earliest computer game memory is Chuckie Egg on the BBC Micro. Anyone else remember that classic? I was a big Mega Drive fan. Many an hour was spent playing NHLPA 92 and 93 and NHL 94. Madden 93 was also a favourite and NBA Jam (here's a kaboom). Most of the games I played were sports, but Street Fighter II was class (spinning bird kick). I also remember throwing loads of money into the Street Fighter II and Mortal Combat arcade machines in Grand Central (before it became posh!) Happy days.

I remember that, but I had it on the Spectrum, classic game! Do you remember when the Pool hall opposite the Bus terminal (now the Hat Museum) first got Dragon's Lair? Christ it was heaving around that machine, you couldn't get near it!

I remember it well - we were probably in the same crowd! In fact, it was around that time me and my mates started playing pool rather than arcade games. What a trip down memory lane! It takes me back to Coco Savannah and Moonshine... [Involuntary shudder]

God yeah, went there playing Pool a few times, kicked off once or twice in there too! I did go to Coco's and Moonshine a few times too, some dodgy characters started to frequent that area towards the end (Heaven & Hell?). Shame really, because Grand Central could have been a much better night spot than it was, a class example of the town's inability to do anything properly.

i had spectrum 'chuckie egg' as well, even though it didn't exploit the full 48k of memory of my machine...
we've already done 'nhl' on here - my favourite flavours were '93 and '95 although i also had the original and '94 too. could you do any better than including (fudge's mate) ray bourque, steve yzerman, jeremy roenick and sergei fedorov in your dream team?
remember the first time you saw the original FIFA? how revolutionary it was to have that isometric '3D'. and then 'actua soccer' for proper 3D...even though it was uncontrollable...
