Hasn't been the success I think people including myself thought he was going to be. I don't doubt his coaching skills, but he is in the same post that Peter Ward was in, a good coach but a poor manager. But then I think who will come in? I would like to see someone like Andy preece or Martian Mcintosh. Both got non league experience and Andy did a decent job with rubbish resources if I belive correctly. I know Al divides fans somewhat but I am getting sick of hearing "we lost today but wernt the fans fantastic" I want to hear what he is doing to sort out the on field rubbish we are watching. I don't want Al out but I want change. We need change or It could well be the Evo-stick and Buxton Away next season.
Thoughts?.........

Afternoon, Tom.
Personally it's no good plastering over bad brickwork. By that I mean until we get rid of the current owners it's pointless employing anyone else, I really don't think any manager that is willing to come here would do any better.
I really don't think we'll stop the rot on the field until we get rid of the rot off it. We need new owners, owners willing to get stuck in and invest in the club. That's just my opinion, mate.

Couldn't agree more. Nice guy, top coach, never a manager. Regardless of what people thought of Gannon, some liked him others loathed him, you could never accuse him of not demanding more and telling the players in no uncertain terms. Good cop never works with poor players.

Gazza also agree with your post unless a certain Mr Gannon comes back any other appointment would be pointless at the moment.

I know what you mean but I agree with Gaz, I don't think anyone could work under these circumstances really, we've had 7 managers since dropping into non-league and I think when all of them haven't met expectation despite having experience in the past you have to start looking at the owners, we may as well employ a fan as manager if the current board remain in place

Agreed, gr. I'm not sure about moving forward under the current ownership, but the return of Jim would almost certainly stop us moving backwards.

Agree with Gazzas points.. but Gannon is not the answer and we wont move forward as a club unless we forget this man and move on. Sounds harsh but we need a completely new manager who will win over the fans with his results. Something that we have had yet. but the fans need to do their bit by not chanting his name when a manager is in the dug out. But I agree with Gazza that something needs to happen at board leval before the real change happens. I cant see that happening for a while though unfortunately. I can see this march/protest on Saturday being stopped by the stewards and police at McKnights request.

Gazza Im sorry but we cant move forward with Gannon we cant go back a third time. He didn't do it last time and third time round could be a disaster. I will get behind any manager that we appoint with passion but I wont be happy if we get Jim back again. We need to get someone hungry and ambitious that isn't Jim Gannon basicly

Like I said people either like him or not. But what I would say he has been the only manager that has made County tick in a long time. Even during his second spell I maintain we were only a few players short of a side that looked like it was capable of winning games. What Gannon would bring is hope and another 500+ fans back through the gates on a regular basis. Gannon was someone the fans could identify with, a County man. Something that is massively lacking.

Disagree, Tom. When Fearn wanted him out he started to move backwards, let's not forget the season before when he came in to keep us up. Jim was helped out of that job by underhand tactics from the board.
I agree regarding singing his name when there's a new manager in the dugout, I hate that myself. Jim wasn't the failure people make him out to be, second time around, he was doomed to failure the moment Fearn got his feet under the table.
F*** off, phone, half of that ^^^ I had to retype!!!
AND F*** OFF TWICE, SAMSUNG FOR MAKING SUCH A MONUMENTAL PIECE OF CRAP. I F****** HATE this phone.

You can say a lot of things about Gannon but that he isn't hungry and ambitious? Come on mate!
I'm not sure if Gannon is the answer but it's unfair to say he didn't do it last time, of course he didn't, no manager in the world would have done it under them circumstances and no manager has either!
I would have Gannon back and would also get behind anyone else as well but it'd be pointless bringing him back under the current board, Paisley, Shankly, Ferguson, Clough, Mourinho, Robson, Ramsey any of them would fail under this board.

Of course Gannon is the right man.
Jim won't come back with that shower of s**** in charge. In any event, he's now been appointed as manager at Northwich ( with Ashcroft moving over to the position of Director of Football there). Interesting to see his first game in charge was a convincing 4-0 win.

In my opinion AL is not suited to the manager role and I hope this poisoned chalice does not taint his reputation to the point where he has to leave the club. His services as a coach or scout would be priceless.
However there is no point removing him now or for as long as the current shareholders remain in place. It would serve as another chance for their handy work to be papered over, this situation has made me so indifferent.
Due to the rescheduling of the weekend game I had to miss it because I booked a panto in months ago and I wasn't even that bothered. A year ago I scoffed at the thought of SCFC moving to Woodley/Hyde and now it is looking very likely.
Would anyone continue following this nightmare of a club if the owners moved our club to Hyde or Woodley?

I didn't say he wasn't hungry or ambitious. I said we need someone who is hungry and ambitious that isn't Jim Gannon. Sorry I got the context wrong I though you were saying that man isn't Jim Gannon not that one of the conditions was that he isn't Gannon haha
