Pleased Alan has got some good results over the Christmas period.,he s also strengthened the coaching set up with Brown and Conlon. Gradually getting rid of the dead wood in preparation for next seasons promotion push. It will be good to go into a new season keeping some proven players, getting rid of social loafers, instead of having to build a team in a couple of months because we had no players .
We only want players who are proud to wear the shirt and will give their all.
I am confident Alan wants the job and optimistically said things can only get better.

We need continuity right now. If we can consolidate our position in this division, knowing in May what we need to do to be a force come August could make a huge difference.

^^ This. We need continuity right now. and that^^! you can't go anywhere repeatedly doing the 'new manager shuffle'. we've now got several solid performers (particularly jacobs and jevons), and loads of young talent. we've still got most of the top sides to play away, but i reckon recent form has been a cause for some positivity. that has to become the standard now, because we haven't got too much room to let it slide again.

And Lordy also has the patience of a saint. It's hard to imagine any other Manager putting up with all the crap going on at EP. A new manager wouldn't last 5 minutes working with McClown - he'd walk, claiming broken promises, etc and he'd be right. Repeat indefinitely until the circus leaves town. Alan is about the only thing approaching stability (except the universal hatred of fans of McGoAway - that's also pretty stable).

agree totally epworth. and AL is proud to be county manager. that's a thing to get behind in my eyes. i've got a bit bored of 'names', who if they might come to us, have failed somewhere.

Do they give you an exemption if you still haven't played half your games before May?

ceefer's comment date jan 20th is spot on and is pretty much what I said in December about squad unity or lack of it. Those who are leaving are those who clearly don't want to play for us so off they go. This leave room potentially for some new players but this time ones who are wanting to come and play here knowing that they could be part of a club which if the investment is concluded soon could start already to build for next season. Those players already here can be very much part of that process and indeed would be welcome to stay and fight for the cause but again they have to realise as players that some loyalty is required. This club is not a glorified dole queue !
