Jesus wept, that is astonishing. Not only does it highlight the mess the club are in, it also serves as a reminder as to how ridiculous and at the same time worthless player contracts are becoming. Staggering.

Good grief, but at last they are the ones having to cough up. Just means one week's less holiday for him this year ! Or less to spend on a new manager/players/training ground/new pitch/ground repairs etc.

Definitely the latter if they're still in situ come August!

"The result of Blackpool's abandoned home game against Huddersfield has been declared as 0-0 and the Tangerines have been charged by the Football League for failing to fulfil the fixture. The game was abandoned after 48 minutes at 0-0 following a pitch invasion by hundreds of protesting home fans. It was held up for more than an hour before being called off. The relegated Seasiders remain bottom of the Championship while the Terriers stay 16th finishing on 55 points. As well as deciding on a verdict for the charge, a Football Disciplinary Committee will also be asked to consider compensation for Huddersfield and ticket refunds to supporters. "The board took the view that the 0-0 score line that stood at the time of the game's abandonment should be officially recorded as the final result of the match, as it believes that league points should always be earned on the field of play," said a statement."

So if Blackpool's tactic had been to storm the pitch in all 46 leagues games whilst still drawing 0-0...the 46 points and neutral goal difference would have just kept them in the league at Rotherham's expense.
PS It also means that County still share the record lowest points in a season in the Championship over 46 games.

What an absolute joke!
I'd have thought a 3-0 win for Huddersfield would have been a fair outcome. At the very minimum a replay and a full refund for Huddersfield fans should have been awarded.

So how the fffff did Hyde get a replay Apologies if this has already been mentioned but what annoyed me the most was the fact we had to pay again but Hyde's season ticket holders didn't and got in a 2nd time for free.

actually bothered to check! blackpool finished with 26 points on -55, and for our 26 points we managed -60. i went to 41 games that season - it was my first season on 9-5 mon-fri after a few years of shiftwork when i was limited to 20-odd games a season. not a great year to enjoy my new found freedom. my first complete league season of 46 games saw us finish 3rd bottom of the league, and included that drubbing at macclesfield. must have forgotten my lucky undies*.
*must remember to dig out my lucky undies...haven't seen those buggers in years...

Exactly why shared ownership can be a serious problem. One owner, one decision, keeps things nice and simple. Awful mess, will there ever be an end to this crap for them?
