Qatar World Cup: FIFA Recommends Winter Dates:A FIFA task force has recommended playing the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in November and December. Looks like it will be in November and December in 2022. What farce. Can you imagine all the European leagues stopping at the end of October, there being 2 weeks for all the teams to travel and acclimatize, 2 weeks for the opening rounds in which some teams won't progress, there then being another 3 weeks up to the final on the 23rd Dec and then another week-10days before the leagues start again. For some countries their league will be on hold, with all their players back, for a month. Imagine England not qualifying for the knock out stages and thd players being home before the start of December with nothing to do until mid-Jan. An absolute scandal for which Blatter will get re-elected to carry on his sleazy operation. Ain't life grand!

I just hope I'm still around to watch the World Cup in 2022 !!!
It looks like the Premier League will need to start in July and finish the following June. 80% of the players in the tournament will possibly be Premiership Players (unless Murdoch has become fed up with football and moved on to wall-to-wall televising of under-water darts or something similar).
Some players will obviously get the winter break that many managers have been craving for years.
Totally barmy if you ask me. A bid made under false pretences with dubious background dealings.

Corrupting football one tournament at a time.
It won't happen but I would love it if all of the big hitters such as England, France, Germany, Italy, Holland, Argentina, Brazil, Spain etc. all pulled out in protest.
Lets see how quickly FIFA spread their cheeks for the big money nations then!
