Aww Duds, nothing personal matey. Just picked the town my grandparents were from. Apologies to the good townspeople of Dudley but I doubt Wolverhampton will have Ryan back. As the ambassador to the fine City of Wolverhampton, I assure you, we will not!

My other grandparents are from Wolverhampton. I spent countless summers sunning it up in the Black Country as a lad. Still no idea how they managed to conjure Ryan up from that background though.
I reckon he's from Walsall, playing the black country card in the hope of stealing some credibility points. Bet he's never even sniffed a pork scratching.

Been out all day in sunny Cheshire and have only just come back in to this fantastic news.
OK we have to suffer RM til the end of May so technically be hasn't gone yet, but the club can finally begin to move forward and get some revenue in again , hopefully with input from Mr. Bellis ( a legend) and Mr Hudson. Welcome!
I hope that the doubters now go and buy that season ticket and support the club. I hope that this is a new beginning and we can get record crowds back again.
I will be buying a season ticket and trust that not more than 1p goes to his severance pay or exile to the Isle of Elba.
IMHO he has been an unmitigated disaster. His parting statement is full of management speak and look what a great job I have done and how I have benefitted the club.
As a CEO you should communicate effectively with your customers. You don't ignore them or their contact, emails etc. You should treat your customers with respect and deliver a quality customer service .
I sincerely hope these lessons have been learnt. It's incredible that in my dealings a CEO Failed on all these counts.
As Tebbit famously said ' on your bike'
And don't come back.

I'm not sure McKnight was quite the villain he's made out to be. Yes, he came here with some terrible ideas that got us relegated, but we've survived another year and he's absorbed a lot of anger that might otherwise have been directed at the team. It's good to see more proper County people coming into the club, though, especially Steve Bellis, who really knows what he's about.

First things first! Great to see you Sheff! First time I've spoken to you since you came to the ice hockey with me!
Secondly, I do believe that McKnight thought he was doing the right thing, I don't think he was particularly malicious, it's the fact he was completely out of his depth and his interactions with the fans in this time that turned people against him, I'm sure he's done a couple of things right but the Kalezic, Gannon etc saga was effectively what got us in this position!

The Kalezic / Gannon saga, and the signings he forced on Kalezic, and the players he loaned out and sold to finance them... That's why we're in this division.
I still strongly believe that if we had stuck with Jim we would still be in the Conference Prem and probably battling to get out of it. It was a horrendous decision to sack him, and a naive, arrogant and incredibly stupid decision to appoint Kalezic. The circus that followed - his interviews, some of the quotes, the way he alienated the fans - compounded it.
I hope he has learned something about humility, respect and patience from his time with us. From reading his parting comments, it seems he feels it is our loss. Wrong again, Ryan.

All the above are hugely valid.
But what really did it for me was the sheer egotistical refusal to accept that the tone of his words, and the decisions he justified with them, would fool the fiercely loyal fanbase.
The problem in the real world - outside of a marketing report - is that when you spout a constant stream of undiluted bullsh*t marketing jargon you risk a great deal of it flying back in your face as soon as it touches someone with half a brain. In this case the sh*t really did hit the fans!
Ryan was hoisted by his own petard and will now slope off back to the West Midlands smelling of his own excrement. I know he'll likely look back with the bullet-proof conviction that he's responsible for the start of the new Stockport County revolution too. Absolute, cast-iron delusion wrapped up in a GCSE edition of An Idiots Guide To Marketing.

Great to see you, Sheff, it's been far too long. However, in my opinion you've got that wrong about McKnight, mate. I agree completely with this absolute nail on head assessment from jlc ^^^^

It was a horrendous decision to sack him, and a naive, arrogant and incredibly stupid decision to appoint Kalezic. The circus that followed - his interviews, some of the quotes, the way he alienated the fans - compounded it. that's it, exactly. the sacking of jim, the fantasy football appointment of kalezic - he's managed in the eredivisie, therefore this will be a piece of piss - the stupidity upon stupidity of his statements, the players in, the loans out... he had a very difficult job to do, but it was possible to maintain us a level above this and still take the hard road. the errors above made that impossible. and sage is obviously right too - brendan rodgers occasionally lapses into break-out meeting speak, but at least when you think about reacting to it, another part of your brain is telling you that liverpool are top of the league a month before it finishes...with ryan there was always being at our lowest ever level and part time lurking in the background. put the two together and you have not only a hate figure, but a deserved one.

At the time of Gannon been sacked, we had numerous opportunities to bring in someone with the experience needed to guide us away from the bottom 4. Had McKnight not had a say in this things could have been a lot different. To me (head for cover) Gannon seemed to have lost the team and clearly players weren't playing for him!! Looking back things weren't right on the field and the club acted!! The club acted but decided to listen to a jumped up to$$ pot!!! Wrong choice!!!
You will NOT be missed Mc$hite!!!

Maybe the club acted correctly in the sacking...but they showed how little they cared when finding Gannon's replacement!! They clearly didnt give a to$$!!
