As we can't have JG back I'll go for John Askey.
Who would you like?

A chap who leaked previously correct news this season says Dave Challinor has now accepted the job. Colin Woodthorpe, now assistant at Runcorn Linnets, assisted him for years so perhaps would re-unite, if this is correct.

A chap who leaked previously correct news this season says Dave Challinor has now accepted the job. Colin Woodthorpe, now assistant at Runcorn Linnets, assisted him for years so perhaps would re-unite, if this is correct. I think I'd be happy with that. No frills as a player and few apparently as a successful manager. I think he could deal with any dressing room ego's fairly quickly and, given his record should have the respect of the players.

He also had to deal with a relatively big budget and therefore egos at Fylde as well as their delightful interfering brexitty owner. So hopefully he will have developed enough skills to keep SW in his pen.

At Fylde he worked with Hinchliffe, signed Croasdale for their record fee and took Reid on loan. At Hartlepool he worked with MSH and Kitching.

YB admin suedehead had this to say about Challinor today:
"Yeah, I believe he’s our man. No idea if it’ll be tomorrow or not but have just been told he should be in charge for Bolton."
He's apparently a reliable source, so this is probably true.

I suspect that pools know that we’re loaded and will pay top dollar to buy out his contract.
For what it’s worth I think Challinor is the right manager for us. His playing career wasn’t spectacular but his proved his management credentials.
If I was Mark Stott I’d be fuming at Simon Wilson! How much is this project going to cost?! Undoing the last 9 months!

Christ, that got very real very quickly, didn't it!
Don't know what to make of it all, but if it is him, then we need to get one hundred percent behind him.

I seem to remember selecting him a JG replacement 9 months ago. In danger of my shining halo slipping and choking me !!!

I think it’s a disgrace pinching another clubs manager. There has been no evidence that he’s unsettled especially recently signing a new 3 year contract. There are plenty of available decent managers. I know this happens but it’s not nice when your clubs manager has been targeted. Stockport County is very quickly becoming a hated football club for all the wrong reasons. Yet again Simon Wilson is showing what a snake he truly is. The sooner the club gets rid of this poison the better. If these are some of the values to which this club aspire to then it’s quickly becoming a club I don’t want to associated with.
