I think it’s a disgrace pinching another clubs manager. There has been no evidence that he’s unsettled especially recently signing a new 3 year contract. There are plenty of available decent managers. I know this happens but it’s not nice when your clubs manager has been targeted. Stockport County is very quickly becoming a hated football club for all the wrong reasons. Yet again Simon Wilson is showing what a snake he truly is. The sooner the club gets rid of this poison the better. If these are some of the values to which this club aspire to then it’s quickly becoming a club I don’t want to associated with. I agree with most of that, mate, but I don't think it's just Wilson on this occasion, maybe not him at all. A few have suggested over on YB that Mark Stott personally favoured a couple of managers for the post, with Challinor being one of them. Regardless of whether or not Challinor is the right man for the job , I too think it shows a lack of class from the people currently running our club. Imagine the uproar if another club did it to us?

According to Hartlepool United's Twitter feed, DC has openly declared his wish to join County and been relieved of his role by the Assistant Manager. Hartlepool rejected County's approach and were annoyed that County's first contact with DC was via his agent; it seems they are considering legal action. This does not auger well; I hoped that our club would approach any potential new manager through the correct channels whatever they might be. More developments this week, no doubt.......

All of what’s been said doesn’t make sense. If DC has such aspirations to join County, he was aware that Simon Rusks days were numbered why sign a new contract for 3 years & wait for his chance when the time came. This again boils down to money & I don’t like this road the club is taking. Yes the club has money but it’s how it’s used. To develop the club in a sustainable way not just throw money at something & take it. This club until now had a fairly good reputation but is swiftly becoming tarnished by an owner that says he loves the club.

I'm not too fussed at all about the behind the scenes goings on that might or might not have happened as I'll never know for sure what's gone on. It'll be Hartlepool saying 1 thing and County saying another.
All I can say is that I'll be behind DC 100% now, As you know I'm a massive Jim fan and would have had him back as my 1st choice but that's not happening (yet!) so it's time for me to move on and celebrate that clueless Rusk can't take us backwards any further and cheer on Dave and the boys as we all look forward and hopefully to our not too distant return to the football league.

With Clint Hill only joining Hartlepool as DC's assistant a few weeks ago, and with him not taking charge of their game tonight, he is a potential 2nd here, I imagine.
From an experienced manager with a track record to a first timer with none, then back to an experienced manager with a track record. 360 football!
Hopefully he can get a tune out of the squad.

Good to hear.....
"This process was reportedly also undertaken by a number of senior club officials, as opposed to being driven solely by Director of Football Simon Wilson, as had appeared to be the case in the appointment of Rusk".
Will he bring Woodthorpe in as his nr 2. If so I hope that Dave Conlon's services are retained.
Hope MSH and Kitching fare well with the new manager.
And will we see some of the Hartlepool players incoming? Brace yourself Mr Stelling.
Looking forward to Challinor taking the reins and ex player status helps. Attack, attack attack.

IT'S UNBELIEVABLE, JEFF! Agreed, Duds. He spoke very well. It's interesting how the club were at pains to stress that this wasn't all Simon Wilson's work, so I'm wondering if his suspected meddling in first team affairs is over? Challinor must surely have said 'I'll take the job if I'm left alone to do the job', as he strikes me as the kind of bloke who would tell Wilson to mind his own f***ing business if he stuck his oar in.

Having listened to that, I'm warming to the man already. Unlike his predecessor, he's clearly comfortable in front of the camera, can speak without use of mindless platitudes and, equally clearly possesses a confidence born of repeated success. I think we've got something to look forward to.
