Back over the Pennines we go this Saturday - to visit hosts who, since our last meeting, have tweaked their name to reintroduce the historical brackets around 'Park Avenue'. Compared with the more recent past, their playing surface is looking rather better - even at this early stage of the season!  Post all the usual stuff here... |

Hoping there are no hold ups like last season where many didnt make the match due to the M62 closure.

I guess that when 4 of the 11 starting (Smalley, Askew, Dimaio and Kirby) and 2 of the 3 who came on as (Mantack and Bell) aren't properly up to speed, an away draw isn't too bad. The method of losing points though (penalty missed, late concession) is nevertheless incredibly frustrating.
We're a point up on last year's tally after 5 games, although the balance to that is we had played the two sides who went on to be promoted.

I'd have taken a point before kickoff but having been in no trouble throughout the final result was a disappointment

Seems to have started this season well in terms of end product which was an issue while with us (1 FAT goal and 1 league assist, if I remember correctly). Certainly always looked like a hassle for a defence though.
