I agree with Gaz. I think it made good sense to try to get out of this division as a part time side, but it hasn't worked out (yet). I'd announce the switch as soon as promotion is mathematically impossible (or confirmed!), and begin recruiting to go full time during the summer.

Unless of course the board want us to remain at this level. If we go full-time next season I'll buy a season ticket, regardless of the fact that I'll probably only make a handful of games, but I won't be setting foot in EP again until that happens, because I'm utterly sick of our lack of balls to do what's necessary - over to you, Mr Chairman.

f***ing disguiseley. averaged 1,035 last season and are averaging 900 odd this season...and that's only because they doubled their average gate with hartlepool's visit.
we need to go full time, but not on the poxy teenage full timers basis that some other clubs have tried, because that's shite.

FT seems the only logical way. And surely on the crowds we get compared with other teams in our league (even though some are being bank rolled) we should be able to afford FT status, with that we attract better players, we are more of a threat, playoffs become a greater possibility and the crowds increase, and thus more money in the coffers. A full circuit of logic to me!

Yes worst thing RM did taking us PT.
FT is obviously the preferred option with no distractons or excuses for the players with a second job. When we get promotion I cant see how a PT player will be able to fit in the travel time. Also more time for Jim to wave the magic wand and really develop the younger players so the club can eventually start to make some money on transfer fees and sell ons.
My only concern is how the club will initially finance the change to FT as it cannot be done on the cheap.
Sponsorship and investment will need to increase and the commercial dept will need to be expanded (although SD appears to be doing a good job).
Anyone know what is happening with a proper training ground?
We need a lot more 'concretes' and comms from the club....

Our forwards are doing OK so they can stay part time, however defence needs plenty of work so they can go full time!!!

On a serious note, if we got promotion with a PT team and then went FT before the new season started, we'd have a complete new team that wasn't gelled or new each other meaning we'd have a bad start to the season and could eventually lead to us coming straight back down again! Better to go up with a FT team so everyone is already prepared for the following season.

At least we managed on Saturday - for the first time ever, I think? - to beat full-time opposition in our current league.
A chance to do so for a second time this weekend, too... although I suspect that Kidderminster may be a tougher nut to crack than Nuneaton.

weren't barrow f/t when we put four past them away? thinking about it, it might have been the following season that they went f/t. probably the same with fylde when we beat them at their place.
and presumably north ferriby aren't any more, hence us breaking our hoodoo against them.

Correct, exile - on all three counts (and the second statement in respect of Barrow)!
