Ticket Price Increases.
Following the Club`s announcement of season ticket and walk up prices for the new season , the Supporters Cooperative would like to clarify our position in relation to same. Whilst appreciating that a need for increased revenue exists , with the increased costs involved in operating more matches at a higher level, we are disappointed at the substantial nature of the increases that , in harsh economic times, put additional pressure on County fans already struggling to make ends meet. In this respect the absence of a `Leisure Key` option is very concerning , and amongst the questions we have tabled for discussion with the Club next Monday are a number that highlight our concerns on season ticket pricing, including one asking the Club to re-visit the Leisure Key issue. We are also asking for a full explanation as to the rationale behind the increases, something thus far that has been absent . A full report of our meeting with SCFC Board members on the 20 May, will be published as soon as possible thereafter. Stockport County Supporters Cooperative.

What we need to ask ourselves is do we want to tread water in the national League or keep moving upwards to the Football League, where we belong?
Unfortunately, this costs money, so until we attract new investment I really can't see how else Jim is going to get the backing to be able achieve this.

Costs in the NL are obviously higher and, at the beginning of the last season, it wouldn't have been beyond the realms of possibility that we would be in the NL in 2019-20, but via the playoffs... without extra home games and with little chance of selling as much merchandise as you can as Champions. It would also be possible to get there without 2 cup runs in the season.
Even with things having financially 'gone our way' in those regards, I still expected a price increase. That said, Disabled STs have seen a 34% increase (£7.14 per game v £9.57 per game) and Adult STs a 24% increase (£11.43 per game v £14.13 per game). As such, I think plenty will find it quite a jump and why anyone at the Club thought it remotely appropriate to call the increase 'slight' and state we're 'considerably cheaper' than many of our [FT and not local] rivals is beyond me. And for those wanting to secure the same seat (for what could be a host of reasons), being given 10 days, mid-month, to secure it, is poor form. These are the people who put in without any clue as to how the 6th season of a tier 6 football season may pan out. (I appreciate there's a more general Early Bird period)

For the record, I think that increasing disabled STs is a p**s-poor move, as is the poxy window that existing ST holders have been given to secure their seats. The whole exercise could and should have been dealt with (and worded) a hell of a lot better than it has been.
The lack of a Leisure Key scheme is also poor. I know it can and no doubt has been exploited by some, but this could be avoided if implemented correctly - the fact that they haven't even tried to just smacks of a general can't be arsedness to me.
I know that goodwill gestures don't always live long in the memory of some, but being treated poorly does.

PLATFORM 81 SPONSOR THE HATTERS HALF Stockport based Integrated Digital Marketing Agency www.platform81.com/ have teamed up with the Stockport County Supporters Co-operative to sponsor the Hatters Half marathon, which will take place on Sunday 8th September. This will be the fifth year the Hatters Half is staged, with the race starting at Edgeley Park, home of Stockport County FC. The scenic route joins the Trans Pennine Trail at Woolpack Bridge and follows the River Mersey to Northenden, forming a loop at Ford Lane and Boat Lane in Northenden, then returning to the finish in Alexandra Park, Edgeley. Platform81 couldn’t be better suited to support the event as they previously worked with Stockport County to design and reinvent their website at the start of the 2017-18 season. The Stockport County Supporters Co-operative are delighted to team up with Platform81, who are not only providing headline sponsorship for the event but are also designing and building a fantastic new website for the Hatters Half, giving it the event prominence it deserves. Founder and Director, Nick Wroe “We are proud of where we come from and that’s Stockport! We’ve been based here for over 10 years and it’s been great to work with, support and help businesses grow within the community. It’s set to be a big year for rejuvenation plans around Stockport, so we couldn’t think of a better way to strengthen our links in the community than supporting great events such as this that highlight the fantastic things that are going on in and around Stockport.” Pre-race entries are now open, priced at £20 for UK Athletics affiliated runners and £22 for non-affiliated. If places remain, entries on the day will be offered, priced at £22 and £24 respectively. Rest assured that we will be seeking answers to all the 22 questions we have submitted, and as usual, we will report back as soon as we can after the meeting on 28th.

The Extra Mile ( s) Which blue blooded County supporter would not go the extra mile to capture the heart of their beloved ? You know the score……..nice meal……flowers……down on one knee etc etc… Well County supporter Jeremy Mirams went further than that….much further, 26.22 miles to be exact, when he ran the Edinburgh Marathon in 2013. The photo here shows Jeremy in the last 100 metres of the race 6 years ago, in the act of proposing to Kate ( now his wife) , who took the photo. That showed the stamp of the man, and Jeremy is now appealing for your support. Jeremy is running this years Hatters Half Marathon, in support of race promoters Stockport County Supporters Cooperative`s Guardian Account. He is targeting a time of 1 .45 , which would beat Des Green`s existing `Guardian Account Hero` record , but he is also hoping to raise £800 for the Guardian Account and thus make a contribution to potentially safeguarding the future of Edgeley Park as the debt free home of Stockport County. Please visit the Just Giving Account set up in Jeremy`s support and donate today, thank you. www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/jeremymirams-422 Thank you.

Not a bad update, that.
I think any profit made from concerts held at EP should go towards the yearly rent, running costs & possibly buying the ground back, thus letting the stadium virtually pay for itself.
Just my opinion.
