Replied Gaz. The update to Android 4.4.4 seems to have worked ok with the apps that I've tried so far. I have a feeling that the next software update for my S5 will be the 'L' update in November, which is said to be version 5.0. I won't hold my breath though!

I finally upgraded to iOS 8.0.2 - I like it, a few more convenient features such as recent contacts and favourite contacts being quickly available and being able to see which apps are most battery draining has helped as well!

How did you free up enough space? I will get round to it soon... 5.8 mb is a lot if space to make free

Deleted a few pics, vids, unused apps etc. it doesn't take up much more than a gig so not sure why you need to clear that much

Looks better with the start menu back but still can't get away from the touchscreen' icon clutter on the desktop. I find it really hard to buy into this as I 'loved' windows XP. I'm not normally resistant to change but I really don't see the value in the new icons...

That ^^ This one size fits all OS nonsense really pi**es me off, it's almost as if they're trying to force the more traditional among us to switch to tablets, and I flatly refuse to as long as motherboards, CPUs and eye-melting GPUs are around. I read a hell of a lot of gaming and technology forums and websites, and I know we are still the many, not the few. So how about a Desktop/Laptop only version? I too loved XP, and was an XP Pro user from just after its release until earlier this year, and the only reason I switched then was because of Microshaft's decision to wind down their support of the platform. I reluctantly switched to Windows 7 Ultimate after seeing the absolute abortion that was Windblows Twista, but I was pleasantly surprised, but that's as far as I'm willing to go for now. Windows 7 does what I need, and it ain't broke....

For me they would be far better recognising there are two types of users the likes and ones who dislike. How do you cater for both without forcing anything on them? One way would be to offer a dual boot. I seem to remember in the distant past you could set up a dual boot for windows and OS2, but that relied on the user doing that. Microsoft need to seriously get their act together and start listening. While I am on this rant I can finally get rid of my HP all in one printer as I have ordered one from the competition; a gamble as its a Kodak, but finally the end to rip off HP ink cartridge prices.. for the same price I will get around 300 extrat b/w pages for the same price cartridge.... HP reduced their prices but also reduced the amount of ink... thinking the consumer and watchdog wouldnt notice...

One way would be to offer a dual boot. Just a simple Standard or Touch screen optimised option at setup would do, then we PC users can swerve the useless crap we don't need and have a lighter, leaner installation with only the features we need. I hear you regarding HP Printers also, nothing but money pits.
